I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this. I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

We get more snow though… I think. Guess that really depends on how north you are in the PNW, though, huh

Morning Nostriches

Going to be a busier day in the loan mine. I took tomorrow off as our weather didn’t hold so I will need to help the hubs butcher our lamb. Got to officially send him off to freezer camp.

Ducks said hello again this morning. Wonder if I’ve got a nest down there. There’s some frost on the neighbors field so I took a pic

I haven’t seen anything on this yet. This is good news though as I have seen a few of these. They always make me uncomfortable

I’m jelly! Hubs put in a large asparagus bed 2 years ago. I have high hopes that this year we will get a crop on it. It’s his only garden bed the rest are mine.

Wood ducks is my best guess. They were only on the pond for a few minutes, perfect timing on my pic!

Sheep is hanging outside still, lol. Looks like hubs is going to start butchering Friday

Yep - we get that at ice melt, but that happened a few weeks ago, it was glorious!

Morning Nostriches

Got a little bit of snow on the ground right now. It’ll be gone by noon though. Sheep were surprisingly friendly yesterday when I went out to feed them. Apparently they didn’t understand why I drug their buddy out Monday night. Relieved too. One of my favorite parts of the day is when I go out & feed them. Scratch under their chins.

Bonus pic is ducks waiting to greet me in the pond this morning
