Have you look into #eCash and #Radix scaling proposals? The author doesn’t seem to have considered these in his analysis hence until I see a solid rebuttal of these (which I haven’t yet) I have no reason to believe that these are not possible (whether or not these projects will be successful is another question).

I’m not an expert in scaling #blockchain tech but I’d like to see a rebuttal of the #eCash approach (the #BitcoinCash fork not the Fedimint token) as well as #Radix approach. Maybe those techs aren’t in the radar of the author.

I don’t really understand why some #Bitcoin maxis would oppose #Bip300 by fear of unknown unknowns (which seems the main rational against #drivechains) while at the same time supporting #Fedimint. I haven’t made a deep dive on Fedimint yet, but my sense is that there is more potential for unknown unknowns with this project.

I’ve read The Mandibles from Lionel Shriver. Good read! The novel narrates the life of a multi-generational American family going through the tumultuous years of 2029-2047. It was written in 2016 so I was wondering if the author would mention #Bitcoin (which may turn to be a solution if the events described in the book were to play out). There is only one mention of Bitcoin:
« The dollar is a historied currency that’s stabilized the international economy for over a century, Willbur. The bancor is an upstart pretender whose constraints are unworkably strict. We just have to hold our nerve. After all—look at what happened to bitcoin. »
The book seems to get it right on so many developments that I really would like to know what had happened to Bitcoin. Shriver may be wrong on this one.

A MASF for #Bip300 will be a good test to uncover potential #Blackrock co-opted miners. Regulators (and by extension Blackrock) DON’T want to see #drivechains on #Bitcoin. Also it would seem against miners’ economic interests to vote against Bip300. Miners voting against Bip300 will be suspected of collusion with Blackrock’s interests.
