Hey Geo, we've intentionally designed Passport to not rely *at all* on Envoy.
You can update firmware from any phone or computer by downloading (and optionally verifying) firmware directly from GitHub, you can connect and use any wallet you want that supports our open standards (a very long list!), and can choose to never download or use Envoy without sacrificing any functionality.
If you missed our Space yesterday with @0xB10C on his incredible new research, you can now listen to it on your favorite podcast app!

You can find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Fountain, or directly via RSS feed.

Don't miss our live talk with 0xB10C on Bitcoin network privacy, active surveillance against *your* node, and what you can do about it 🎙️

Wondering what a "Sybil attack" is? Curious if someone could tie transactions back to your Bitcoin node and IP address?
Theory is becoming reality with an attack happening against your node. We're covering it on Tuesday @ 2PM EDT live w/ 0xB10C:
We have two winners at the same time!

DING DING DING 🎯
Zapped, good sir.
Same exact time as #[4]!
You're right on the second half, will pay out to both of you 👊
Hey now, copy pasting from Twitter is against the rules ❌
But good research 😁
PAYJOINS SO PRIVATE EVEN *YOU* CAN'T TELL WHAT IT WAS 😂
Beauty of Payjoin is that there's no way to tell on-chain 😎
But no, this one isn't, actually!
What's this 🤔

Thrilled to have research legend and Spiral BTC grantee 0xB10C join us to dig into an attack against the privacy of Bitcoin nodes happening *right now* that most don't know about🎙️
https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1ZkKzXdwAkaJv?s=20
Not only will we unpack what the attack is and how it's happening, we'll talk about next steps for how you can protect yourself against it and preserve your privacy when running a Bitcoin node.
If you run a node you'll want to tune in live or listen to the podcast feed later if you can't make it:
Thank you for sharing, absolutely love to hear that we're making an impact 👊
Say hello to version 2.0.7 for Passport 👀
We've overhauled transaction signing and memory management to let you send those massive transactions with ease, as well as export multisig configs to microSD or QR for easy import into another wallet.

Next major version for Passport is looking 🔥
So many goodies coming to you fine folks

Of course, we'd never push something like this without it being FOSS and preserving your privacy as much as possible!
You can find the code here:
Connect Passport to Bitcoin Keeper, create a vault, export the entire vault config to be backed up on Passport, and verify receive addresses in just a few scans of a QR 📺
- Fully self-custodial
- Fully validated on air-gapped Passport
- Easily restored entirely from Passport
