A Soil Owner's Manual: How to Restore and Maintain Soil Health by Jon Stika

A book that is short but jam-packed with the basics of soil function and structure as well as a plan to ameliorate degraded and destroyed soils. A must-have in your library.

"The problem lies in that most people do not know what a healthy soil looks or acts like, nor what makes it healthy or unhealthy."

"The five main functions of soil are: maintaining biodiversity and productivity, partitioning water and solute flow, filtering and buffering, nutrient cycling, and structural support."

"There are three main classes of soil properties; physical, chemical, and biological."

Capitalism and communism looks the same on top of the money printer. nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe

I have a question to NOSTR about seed backup. Seed Plate (or similar that gets stamped) vs Billfodl (or similar that gets inserted). The downside of the Billfodl is that if someone finds it they can empty it and you will never know the seed phrase. The upside of the Billfodl is that if I need to make a run I can memorize the words and dump them myself and there will be no evidence what the seed phrase is as opposed to the Seed Plate which you cannot erase the evidence. Thoughts?

I was just walking on my usual trail when I heard some rustling branches a couple feet away. I kept walking casually, thinking it’s probably a deer.

Then I heard a loud grunt.

I know all the “black fight back” and what not but I was PETRIFIED. I got super hot and dizzy.

After the initial shock I slowly looked back to nostr:npub1cj8znuztfqkvq89pl8hceph0svvvqk0qay6nydgk9uyq7fhpfsgsqwrz4u who was about 20ft behind me and motioning to me not to run.

We began a brisk walk back to the car, the rustling moving parallel to us before abruptly stopping.

Hearts pounding, we made it home.

Moral of the story: be careful even on familiar trails, and be aware that sometimes you don’t respond how you think you might in a dangerous situation.

Do you not carry a gun???
