Thinking about a couple days ago when I was talking with guys at the airport and a woman overheard that I took photos of the raccoons before I shot them bc they were cute and she got rather sad

we had a few paths --
ag and metal -> agstdfaglafe (ag structure design, fabrication, and something else) -> practicum in ag mech OR ag and metal -> auto tech -> prac auto
also had intro to engineering -> manufacturing engineering -> man 2 -> prac man
when I was in my shop class, I had a guy who raised show cattle and hadn't taken a day off in all 27(?) years he worked there
they got him to stay 2 years after he'd wanted to retire so that year he decided to take all his days off that he possibly could and we made "the most creative piece of dick art [he'd] ever seen" and he stuck it up on the board until an admin got annoyed with him -- little steel man made from scrap with a cock and balls made from a bolt and nuts lol
aside from that, we cut 2x4s with hand saws for the first term and then welded for the second; next year we had a different guy and we would spend hours upon hours practicing welding (and screwing around), at least I got pretty damn good and also certified for my hours of boredom
ag & metal is basically shop, I'd bet you had that or something adjacent to it
we didn't even get the option to take home ec, closest we got was ag&metal
