New Yorkers not welcome?

Great battles of history -- 56 years ago today the U.S. Sixth Fleet launched a nuclear first strike against the Russian air base at Cairo West in retaliation for the sinking of the USS Liberty with no survivors. Three minutes short of target the flight was recalled. As it had turned out, the spy ship wasn't sunk, only disabled, there were survivors, and the attackers had not been Egyptian but Israeli. Within hours the SAC crews, prepared to deliver hydrogen warheads to the Soviet homeland, were ordered to stand down. We all, East and West, owe a great deal to the heroism of the crew of the Liberty, who managed to restore communications and get messages out while still under fire from sea and air, and keep their vessel afloat. Otherwise I might not be here to type this, or you to read it.

Posting this on Coracle, a client that seems to have several advantages for onboarding normies to the nostraverse. For one thing there is no sending them to the global feed to find folks to follow. Assuming that they have one or two people to start with, the people that those folks follow appear as the first social "network," along with those who follow them, I think. The problem with starting with the global feed, as I did, is the large number of posts which can only be understood, if that is the word, by other machines, as well as the smaller but not insignificant number of graphics which some might find distasteful.

Slowly getting my feet wet here. Using Snort on the desktop and Amethyst on the 'phone. Not much of a cryptogeek, just exploring a path for many into what some of us hoped the Internet would be back in the '90s. Looking to open a channel for folks like us.
