You make a good point about server cost. But the model still change from a lump sum recurring amount to pay-per use ? Like serverless / AWS lambda introduced. That would make a case for Lightning and L402.

Kenya is amazing too! Love Nairobi, it's a bit chaotic but so diverse in what you can see and do. The Mombasa coast and Diani is also just amazing. They got good kitesurfing spots around, amazing food... the list goes on.
I also saw you created a project awesome! We tended to lean on technical and digital projects before but I would love to learn how we can better support such project like yours as it’s also in line with our future plans for the platform
I'm not doing a complete 180 on bootstrapping and building businesses... but this weekend I had a discussion about hipstamatic launched in early 2009 which was bootstrapped and instagram venture backed and launched in oct 2010.
here's a little summary I generated:
\- Hipstamatic launched in 2009, available for a direct purchase price with additional in-app purchases for lenses, films, and filters.
\- Instagram, founded in October 2010, quickly focused on social networking and received significant VC funding: $500,000 in February 2011 and $7 million in April 2011.
\- Instagram's user growth was rapid, reaching 1 million users by December 2010, 10 million by September 2011, and 30 million by April 2012.
\- Instagram was acquired by Facebook in April 2012 for approximately $1 billion.
\- Hipstamatic's focuses mainly on its niche market of photography enthusiasts without significant public funding or acquisition events

@starbuilder first off congrats on getting into the cohort, excited to see what you guys ship! i was thinking to visit Madeira to have some discussions about design and UX.
it's also an interesting case you make for Nostr's differentiator to be AI. the network of AI Models and Applications... I was speaking to @Aljaz about L401 recently, and basically there's not much incentives by existing companies to change their business models to support L401 for instance. It'll have to take something new to drive the pressure on the consumer side even, from the business side they're just looking to increase profits, and SaaS subscriptions will probably still be the most profitable for a while, especially for new companies.
That's all to say 🙌 you've given me something to think about wrt Nostr's place in this future.

you can also just reach out to various service providers and ask them for a discount or extended trial period. often times you'll give you a coupon or extend the trial if you explain that you're just starting up too
