Every time I interact with the traditional banking system it's all friction.

I don't understand how the common mortal doesn't realize it.

Last night I made an immediate transfer, so far no news.

Other times they have held the transfer for x reasons at both the sending and receiving bank.

On weekends and holidays, forget about it.

I use Lightning daily, Liquid and Bitcoin, 0 problems, all immediate, 365 days a year, no questions asked, no KYC.

It is irritating to have to deal with banks.

The future being designed isn’t only dystopian — it’s seamlessly intrusive.

At the World Economic Forum, Avathon CEO Pervinder Johar predicted a world where facial recognition eliminates the need for digital ID. No passwords, no cards—just automated, inescapable identification embedded in “smart cities.”

The WEF’s “Digital Public Infrastructure” panel was a polished sales pitch for mass surveillance, disguised as “efficiency” and “security.” Johar proudly discussed Avathon’s AI surveillance tech, already active in Texas schools, monitoring everything — open doors, unauthorized access, weapons. All for safety, of course.

Panelist Hoda Al Khzaimi praised public-private partnerships in DPI while openly admitting mass analytics could be imposed on populations “for health reasons.” Because apparently, tracking everyone, everywhere, is the only way to manage pandemics.

That doesn't mean that saving is bad, as it can be a precursor to investing, but it does mean that investing means _taking risks with money_ . That requires, long-term, a different mentality than saving. Which is why the two habits don't seem to align much.

I could also see people using escrow services for receiving shipments, maybe?! Imagine this:

1. Patron wants an item delivered, doesn't want to reveal his identity or address to the seller or USPS. Creates a bounty for this item, offers some reward over the item price.

2. Arbiter takes the job. The Patron trusts this Arbiter as a known broker for physical deliveries, so the Patron is happy.

3. The job goes live. A Free Agent takes the job, buys the item, uses the Arbiter's address as the shipping destination. Maybe this is a "questionable item" and this Free Agent happens to have really good anonymous payment systems set up. and The Arbiter has some kind of complex drop-box situation, I dunno.

4. When the goods arrive with the Arbiter, he confirms everything is to the Patron's request, disperses the "reward" funds to the Free Agent, and arranges with the Patron to get the goods to him. The Arbiter gets his pre-arranged fee for providing this service, as usual.

The Patron only has to reveal his physical address to the Arbiter, and since he's a highly-trusted node for this kind of thing, he figures the risk is worth the reward.

Clients should show zap stats on profiles. These are pro social and a pro v4v metrics. It doesn’t just need to be overall totals- there’s metrics like number of zaps above x # of sats that would help avoid purely plutocratic effects.

I honestly don’t understand why it’s not already more common... I want to know how generous someone is… I want to know how others value their content- not just view their content.
