Hello Fediverse folks, this is me on Nostr! I won't be using a redirect because I don't know if the bridge supports it (and I don't want to be locked in to a specific bridge). So just follow this account if you like.
Besided on Fediverse, got it! :-)
Anyway this is very cool, didn't even notice the .mostr.pub in the username.
I recently turned off my (individual) Mastodon instance. Although the content is distinct from Nostr since it's a different crowd, I didn't feel like doing yet another security update. I also don't want to be the subject of a moderator, so moving isn't a solution.
/home/mastodon still exists and I haven't nuked the database, so I might return.
It would be nice if Amethyst (and other clients) de-duplicated the main feed. I often see the same message over and over again as the original, several boosts and a quote-boost.
Maybe just pick the hot take from whoever the user zapped the most. Then add a "more hot takes" expansion button to see other takes.
Life is too short to scroll.
So is there a two-way bridge between mastodon and nostr yet? I'm sure it would get defederated by some of the elephant overloards, but maybe not all. Two different but open protocols should get along and I'm too lazy to maintain accounts on both.
Is there a standard for permanently redirecting followers to a new npub?
But I usually want to share a link to me on some *other* chat platform. Something like a public key is easier to share.
SimpleX Chat – #private and #secure #opensource messenger without user IDs of any kind (not even random numbers) – v5.2 with message delivery receipts and more stable message delivery is now released to App Store and Play Store!

Are you working on a more compact format for sharing contact info? Ideally something that's not a link (even if encodes one).
First I like an encrypted (to self) mute list. Including to mute keyword-npub pair, mute someone's posts but not their replies, etc.
Publicly marking stuff as spam is fine though, so for that a suggested block list can be useful. But don't client already use spam info?
I'm more of a medium rare guy (in the UK at least). So I guess that's rare in the US. I thought shoe sizes were confusing...
Update on Kazachstan mining. TL&DR regulations as currently proposed will likely drive much mining out of the country, but we'll how it evolves.
"just shooting the planet in the head" - please make a hat
I mean where is this on the long and winding journey through EU bureaucracy, when will it take effects, what happens with old cars, etc.
Any Germans who can add a bit of context here?
You're really not trying to recruit employees here are you? :-)
Bolt12 code could be tied to your email the way LNURL's are, via a /.well-known url. Ditto for silent payments. So all they need to do is ask your email address and it just works(tm).
Now we just need to fix email centralization :-)
