Just a reminder that this site exists. #cooking #recipies
Been noticing in Amethyst that when I search for an account name it only allows for 5 characters and after that it shows nothing. Is this a limit of Nostr or Amethyst?
The results seem limited too.
I recall someone else having a similar issue with Snort?
Sometimes tagging seems to have weird issues too. Can never seem to get Matthew Kratters account to come up so in can tag him with his videos... but that may be a relay issue.

Android is the way. I want to be able to do things with my phone (pocket computer). Used an iPhone many years ago for work and really solidified my dislike of them.
My post on why I doesnโt matter who created Bitcoin hit Zerohedge.
Always amusing to watch the no-coiners lose their shit in the comments.

I've used many of these points in talks with no-coiners and new coiners.
I'm kinda curious how people still get to the place where they think the NSA could have a "backdoor" to SHA-256 (no one seems to be able to explain how exactly. I guess if they could, then it would be already a problem haha). I get the chance of quantum computing, sorta. If anyone else has some really good breakdowns on the "backdoor" concerns I would like to see them.
For those wondering how it SHA-256 works Matthew Kratter did a good video on it a while back.

And here is another amazing easy to understand one.
Ok, thanks. Was getting the same from my son's wallet. I'll have to look into it.
Can someone zap a quick test to my lightning address?
23andMe Claims Data Leak Not a Security Incident
This topic makes my brain go off in so many directions...
1. Don't give your DNA or biometrics to anyone, especially a service that puts it on the web. Data harvesting is already being done on those who have used 23andMe by China, etc.
2. Don't reuse passwords, ever. Better yet, use different emails and passwords for everything so you can know if you've been hacked/leaked/shared.
3. If it's on the internet it can/will get stolen/hacked (seed phrase, bank info, pictures). Even if it's encrypted, at some point it might be possible to crack it (ie LastPass).
4. Government and company databases hosting citizens data will always be breached.
5. Digital IDs are an aweful idea that will bring even more government doxing of everyone in the name of "safety", which will just exacerbate the problem. Decentralized IDs are maybe a better option, but I'm not buying it yet.
Data security is definitely a balancing act. I see the possibility of smaller and more local government to be of benefit here, but personal responsibility is huge.
Please feel free to add more points to this list, its a topic of endless discussion.
Such a nice looking unit. Whats going to be the price on these?
Happy Birthday. ๐
New MxPx music video released. Love the lyrics and breakdowns in this one. Really happy to see lyrics being posted in a lot of the newer music videos on YouTube.

Looks like it's missing a QR code or something; that's a lot of blank space.
Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes and his companions
Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
All up alive.
Threescore barrels, laid below,
To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
A stick and a stake
For King James's sake!
If you won't give me one,
I'll take two,
The better for me,
And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!
Pretty sure its just auto on. AFAIK it's two way communication and they should see your comments.
Not exactly. There is a mostr bridge (posts will show as mostr.pub) that allows mastodon instances to be seen on Nostr. If they don't block it.
