Itâs not your uncle jackâs Twitter anymore
You honestly wonât find many âcryptoâ fans on Nostr, but it would be great to get more tech ppl here. The pace of development here is mind blowing, some app/client will inevitably go mainstream.
BlueSky can have all the blue checks and journos, thatâs a great platform for crying harder.
Craig Wright is a fraud.

Ah sorry, I guess youâre right. Then the missing faction is actually the monke pic clowns đ
Been watching The Foundation. Season 2 is much better!

Itâs based on the Asimov books? Would like to watch but donât have Tim Apple TV
Generally agree with your characterization.
Enter Faction #3 - thinks monke pic is highly regarded, but that Bitcoinâs incentive structures will eventually price this out. More likely, the degens will move onto something new and shiny long before any code changes to âpreventâ monke pic are proposed and reviewed.
How did you come to the conclusion that this is an âexploitâ?
Might be possible in theory, but seems highly risky from an implementation and node consensus POV, let alone the difficulty of gaining social consensus for this type of change.
Then thereâs the idea that soft forks can only tighten rules and not loosen them - Iâm not sure if itâs possible to soft fork a future loosening of consensus rules.
Curious to hear what any core devs have to say.
Miners are primarily concerned with lowering their CapEx and OpEx. Itâs a brutally competitive landscape, and if you want to survive you need to have some kind of edge. This is rightfully what they focus on.
Adding layers of complexity like âdecentralized poolsâ or âside chain rewardsâ is not in their interest. Many miners are completely unaware of these conversations to begin with.
That said, if we can ship SV2 they get clear wins in efficiency and privacy. And if we can make it easy enough for them to do the block templating part of SV2, we may get a win for decentralization.
If you want to help de-risk some aspects of mining centralization, contribute to Stratum V2 development
Everyone yelling about âdecentralized poolâ and âsolo miningâ are wildly out of touch with operating a mining business.

What are the trade offs vs browser extensions like Alby?
I gather that Blockstream is rather chaotic internally. They employ a ton of smart, opinionated people, working on wildly different projects.
