Have any devs out there tried building an open source data warehouse stack? What have you had success with, particularly in choosing the right DB?
Basically, what is the closest experience you can get to Snowflake or BigQuery, using only open source? Big bonus points if it’s supported by dbt or similar modeling framework.

But… to my knowledge, no other language & package ecosystem has come CLOSE to Python around data analytics, ML, or AI.
Rust dataframe tooling (see Polars) is getting there. But surely we can’t expect all data analyses to learn Rust 😂
Agree on the concept of “don’t let perfect be the enemy of good”.
However, in programming language development, there is at least some expectation of backwards compatibility. So I can respect a slower development pace in the core language / modules.
Can someone pls explain (or preferably, link to an explanation of) how Zap events and amounts are logged in #Damus?
Sometimes I see zaps and corresponding amounts, which later disappear. I presume that is due to LN payment failures? Do Damus or other clients post these as “zaps” before the payment is complete?
