I am a thirteen year veteran leading small groups.
Some of the reasons include feeling certain autonomy when approaching goals and challenges. I can gauge how prepared we are, how much more training we need to get there and how much time is appropriate to achieve goals.
My boss gets an action plan, asks questions, makes suggestions, then we are let loose.
There is little to no need for micro managing.
Other aspects include realistic goals, genuinely caring for our customers with a passion, respecting individual values at every level, at all times with all seriousness.
I give credit to good leaders all the time.
I can honestly say that good leaders find a way to bring out the best in us, while poor leaders help us hit the door fast!
