The remote town of Broken Hill lost power due to a storm, backup generators failed after a couple of days. By this stage tge town was out of food, food shortages were widespread and people were filling the city centre in cars lining up for the only fast food factory in town that had back up power.
Locals were on the news lamenting that tge government wasn't doing anything.
Take care of your own preparedness so you don't need to rely on others.

Yes, it'll open up the wallet. You can set it for auto approve for small amounts, so my basic zap of 21 sats is automatic. I received 50 sats all good. Have fun, it's great to be able to actually share value for good content, can be addictive.
