We should create a Nostr to Reddit style API wrapper so that that Reddit app developers can just swap out the URL for the Nostr wrapper one and the app will continue to just function, only with Nostr data.

Like Lemmy https://feddit.de/post/768790

I've been trying to convince the people over at Sync for Reddit to do the same, but they clearly don't see the value in Nostr.

It's interesting because Nostr is exactly what they're looking for. They don't want something controlled by a corporation and they don't want fediverse style broken apart communities.

The one big issue though is that Nostr doesn't yet have a concept of subreddits, i.e. mini communities around a given topic.

Poll options are pulled from another poll.

Also I didn't get this as a notification despite having notifications enabled:

Probably just a different signature. If you downloaded from elsewhere previously you have to uninstall and reinstall.

Coracle 0.2.20 is released — and it's kind of a big deal. https://app.coracle.social is now the least bandwidth-intensive pure Nostr client, with a ~90% reduction in network usage!

TLDR; this feature is opt-in for now, to enable it go to Settings, and enter "wss://multiplextr.coracle.social" as your "Multiplextr URL".

How'd I do it? I created a relay proxy called "multiplextr", inspired by https://github.com/Dolu89/nostr-proxy, but instead of setting relays up-front, I wrapped the Nostr protocol to allow clients to specify which relay to talk to on every request.

You can check out the source code and self-host the library using this link: https://github.com/coracle-social/multiplextr. If you're a dev and want to add client support for multiplextr, https://github.com/coracle-social/paravel might be of use.

Full changelog for 0.2.20:

- [x] Re-write pool to use paravel

- [x] Add support for multiplextr

- [x] Fix retrieving old chat/DM messages

- [x] Disable self-zap

It's great to have this, and it can even be used as a starting point for push notifications!

So a recent update definitely reset my relays to the 8 Plebstr defaults, but I posted again via Amethyst and force closed Plebstr and now my specific relays are back.

It's possible it just needed a force close.

Were there changes to the relays in this version or a recent update? I'm not seeing the correct set of relays in my relay list.
