Bitcoin tax filing is becoming an even greater headache for the U.S. taxpayers in 2025, especially for the users of centralized exchanges:
1. The "universal method" for calculating crypto gains and losses is being eliminated.
2. Reporting will now be done on a wallet-by-wallet or account-by-account basis.
3. Centralized exchanges will issue 1099-DA forms, similar to the 1099-B for traditional securities. These forms will most likely be incorrect.
The safe harbor forces taxpayers to complete their 2024 Form 8949 gains and losses BEFORE the end of the year and BEFORE completing the safe harbor allocations.

you guys pay crypto taxes? lolz
minibits. it just works, has all the must have feats for me. boardwalk.cash also is nice but still missing some things.
the privacy ones are the most annoying.
I just use it like in the example :
https://github.com/nbd-wtf/nostr-tools?tab=readme-ov-file#interacting-with-multiple-relays
I don't think that will work for Zap Receipts. For these receipts, the NWC provider must dynamically connect to an send messages the relays that are specified in the inbound message ... see here: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/57.md#appendix-a-zap-request-event .... so we can't know in advance which relays we're supposed to connect to... we need to dynamically connect to the relays depending on what the zap recipient specifies...
got it, I don't have experience in that scenario, but I think if you receive a list of relays you could create a pool with those relays and publish to all of them, that pool would be temporary I guess but I think it handles the connections for you.
#asknostr When publishing events to relays, what is the best practice if we are trying to publish to 10+ relays in terms of duplicate messages? For example, with Zap Receipts, I see "Create a nostr event of kind 9735 as described below, and publish it to the relays declared in the zap request." ... in our NWC implementation, we've seen that often there can be 10 or 20 relays "declared".
The most stable and lowest-latency way to do this, at least in my mind, is to try to connect to all of the relays, and then send to these relays after the first relay connects, after the 3rd relay connects, and then after about 80% of the relays have connected.
Because what is the alternative? Wait until all 20 relays connect !? That is going to be too slow, and probably at least 1 relay is down at any time! So we can't wait for all of them to connect!
Right now we've implemented this "wait for 1, wait for 3, wait for 80%" logic, but that means we are sending DUPLICATE Zap Receipts -- usually three in total!
At least in nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q , I find that it does show more than one zap receipt, even when there are duplicates, but if I refresh the page, then it seems to de-duplicate the zap receipts, so only one shows on the profile.
I use nostr-tool and I just create a relay poll with all the relays that you want and then always use that pool.
Has anyone working #obtainium settings for upgrading #fedi app of #fedimint? I don't get it working.
*you can use zapstore
Has anyone working #obtainium settings for upgrading #fedi app of #fedimint? I don't get it working.

Been trying out nostr:nprofile1qqsw3u8v7rz83txuy8nc0eth6rsqh4z935fs3t6ugwc7364gpzy5pscpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef0llphaj wallet, is there a way to backup the ecash? Also unfortunately to zap here on Nostr the wallet does not appear as an option to pay the LN tx.
Biden officials are walking back comments that #UFOs had not penetrated restricted air spaces over military bases as we’re getting more reports of #UFO sightings over military bases now in Utah. Although it seems that these UFOs are also seen outside of the US, they really undermine the image of the US military as the DoD appears unable to mitigate their occurence. At this point, it would seem convoluted to make of #alien invasion #psyop a likely explanation. Same for the hypothesis that this is a warning sent to #Trump by the #DeepState. If it was, wouldn’t it have made more sense for this operation to be conducted after Trump took office?
To me, it seems that whoever is in control of these UFOs is at best sending a message/warning to the US military (and potentially to the military of other nations as well) or at worse is preparing the ground for a larger operation.

It's UFOs. They don't like it when we mess with nukes, they are watching military bases that are probably moving or preparing nukes.
Jumble is turning out to be the best Nostr web client out there: https://jumble.social/?r=wss://news.utxo.one
Looks good. Too bad is relay feed only.
I was using Brave Search but would regularly find its results weren’t very good, even with the Google fallback mixing enabled. But since switching to nostr:npub1xsgymm0ne3vndqpvsvy285qfpu59049t5n5twg9vetmt92cyn95snyzazx a few months after they launched in 2022, I now get the results I’m looking for every time. And I love that I can customize the results based on the types of sources it’ll query against. I even went so far as to benchmark Google itself and surprisingly Kagi outperformed even Google in terms of the quality and relevance of the results for each search. Even if you don’t partake in the promo running on NostrMedia.com, I highly suggest giving #Kagi a try!
How do they customize the results?
