What are your thoughts on multisig fedimints as a potential solution?
https://fedimint.org/docs/GettingStarted/Why-Fedimint#scaling
True lol
I think the benefit of doing that way would be that — if it works — we would instantly have lots and lots of battle-tested clients and UIs for all platforms, ready to be used without any UI work from our part
The more I do Open Source, the more I discover this is true.
And I personally found that the easiest way to get started (for those who have never contributed to Open Source) is to find a project you both like and use, go to their Github page, and find issues tagged with “Good first issue” or similar.
That’s awesome! One step closer to Nostr business/productivity apps
I am curious, what are your thoughts on some local email IMAP server daemon (localhost) that receives and sends messages externally via Nostr relays, but presents them via IMAP or POP as if they were normal emails to traditional email clients? Perhaps it could be a way to reuse email client UIs to interact with Nostr?
Hmm. I asked the dev team to help troubleshoot.
nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s have you seen nostrdb related crash on startup bugs?
Hi nostr:npub1kyeml3tma4su8yw5aru48wgxclchp8zr3kguwhakmtmegjw40zws82sfjk, thank you for letting us know. When it crashes, does iOS give you an option to send a crash log? That would help us!
One workaround while the issue is not fixed might be to reinstall Damus. But please make sure you have your nsec backed up before you do that to avoid losing access to your account. You would also lose bookmarks. If reinstalling is not desirable, you can wait until we fix this issue, and then you can update without losing access to bookmarks, nsec, etc.
Saw a pop-up shop in a mall selling physical gold and silver. Very large lineup.
Probably nothing.
Welcome to Nostr! 🤙
nostr:npub13v47pg9dxjq96an8jfev9znhm0k7ntwtlh9y335paj9kyjsjpznqzzl3l8 pls look into that thnks nostr:note1q3s3267mfztjp0uy74ee4eash85xxe7j82njc9zh5acczrak9ccs3f0srv
Hi nostr:npub19jcnyvatxdjj4dn3hwyqux848k0rzm5pfst8fs2ltuyf97z29gms0cfl7a, I believe nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s has a fix on the works that will improve scrolling performance. Please stay tuned!
Time for some fun expanding my personal server setup 😄
Happy birthday nostr:npub1h50pnxqw9jg7dhr906fvy4mze2yzawf895jhnc3p7qmljdugm6gsrurqev. Here’s to another year of putting up with me 🥂
Happy birthday nostr:npub1h50pnxqw9jg7dhr906fvy4mze2yzawf895jhnc3p7qmljdugm6gsrurqev!! All the best! 🎉 🎊
nostr:npub12gyrpse550melzx2ey69srfxlyd8svkxkg0mjcjkjr4zakqm2cnqwa3jj5 thanks for the video! nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s, yes, I believe this is the same as https://github.com/damus-io/damus/issues/1826
After the fix, this note should have a similar appearance as the example here: https://github.com/damus-io/damus/issues/1826#issuecomment-1868081564
It only shows the loading spinner for me. Do you have a screenshot of the note?
“We’ve all seen the logarithmic bitcoin chart. You have to remember that the vast majority of people in the world have not seen that chart.”

What is the logarithmic bitcoin chart?
nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5, yes, that seems to be the case.
This is larger than just onboarding too. I believe this issue might be triggered on normal posts if users write hashtags and remove them, or if other clients add hashtags to the Nostr JSON payload without displaying them on the content
Thanks for the confirm.
nostr:npub13v47pg9dxjq96an8jfev9znhm0k7ntwtlh9y335paj9kyjsjpznqzzl3l8 any idea why Boston is seeing that note in his timeline, if it has no hashtags, and he does not follow and has not followed the npub previously?
Good question.
I would guess that the hashtag was appended to the text, the user deleted it, but it remained in the “tags” field of the Nostr JSON payload somehow.
Let me check the event JSON
nostr:npub13v47pg9dxjq96an8jfev9znhm0k7ntwtlh9y335paj9kyjsjpznqzzl3l8 how does the introductions hashtag mechanic work?
nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5, the mechanism is quite simple, it just adds the hashtag text to the onboarding post view as soon as the user tries to type anything.
However, the hashtag is optional, the user can delete it if they want to
Hmm that’s strange, it works on my end. Let me try again:
Which nostr client are you on?
OpenAI has now blocked all access while using nostr:npub1mea2vwcu06qf7e4x00wd902vj54qnn2jacq76ldntrgfhtvhlpqqrvqane VPN. They’ve become the Coinbase of AI. For now, I’ll take my money to Anthropic, but longer term, self-hosted.
You should check out https://unleashed.chat, it works quite well and they accept payment via Lightning
For self-hosted LLMs, https://ollama.ai is a nice project (Gotta have a ton of RAM memory though)
Great point nostr:npub1k92qsr95jcumkpu6dffurkvwwycwa2euvx4fthv78ru7gqqz0nrs2ngfwd!
nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s, we still have time to try several things. We will find a way!
