Not a Polar Bear, who went from Electronics -> Software -> Databases -> Monetary Systems.

Yes, that’s the sad truth about maths. A 50% fall requires a 100% gain to recover.

But check out https://polarbitcoin.net/falls-from-aths. It doesn’t look too impossible.

$49k. That’s one small step for #Bitcoin, a giant leap for holders.

I’ve just finished Principles Of Economics by Saifedean Ammous. I drew out the last chapter, savouring the building up to the climactic conclusion that “[t]he current parasitic governmental banking monopoly is just another in the long list of challenges human reason has faced, and bitcoin may prove to be the device our reason concocts for conquering it." It's an essential read!

I am thankful for (and humbled by) all the people who contribute so much to the world and future generations by their hard work.

…then suddenly?

Not dumb. Derivations of expressions change (or maybe get hijacked!). As I’ve understood it from many decades of use: nut case is like nutty/crazy/etc and case is like a medical case, as in a case of chicken pox. Put the two for the common, traditional use. Somebody has gone a bit anatomical with this new, contrived derivation. And in any case, I do not know what behaviour one should attribute to somebody behaving like a scrotum - answers on a postcard, please…

I think I have been a bit unfair to nostr:npub1hcwcj72tlyk7thtyc8nq763vwrq5p2avnyeyrrlwxrzuvdl7j3usj4h9rq recently - respect the massive pressure of running a no kyc bitcoin custodian.

Sincerely hope there is never a rug.

Earlier, you mentioned: rug, shotgun kyc, or deliberate honeypot. I think there might be another scenario in which WoS made a cut down basic lightning app to make modest profit in a legitimate way from routing fees.

Ah, I thought I was missing something deeper.

I’m afraid I do use WoS as a demo wallet when showing people BTC and I do have 100,000 Sats for demo purposes. WoS presents an easy first step - install, set to local currency and you’re away - but I do explain further and certainly go on encourage full self sovereignty. I practise what I preach.

If central banks used to be able to issue notes promising to pay the bearer on demand a certain amount of national currency; what’s to stop them holding Bitcoin and issuing similar notes in the future, and won’t this lead to the same old problems?
