Yes, nwc.getalby.com is live and works with Amethyst
You don't have to follow Will you know. Or listen to anything he says. But he is a Lightning dev so it's not abnormal that he talks about what he is passionate about and wants to incorporate it in his app.

Awesome! Did you already use nostr-wallet-connect? You can use your own LND node to zap from Amethyst, without a complex setup:
- Add the Alby App store as a community Umbrel app store: https://github.com/getAlby/umbrel-community-app-store/
- Install the Nostr Wallet Connect app
- Create a session
- Connect Amethyst: Long press the Zap icon and scan the QR code that you generated in the previous step.
- Zap away! Your zaps are now being paid by your own LND node.

Yeah seems like a less extensive duplicate of NIP47 (lacks the connection flow)
Better do it subscription based and dm the content to your subscribers imo instead of complex pay-per-view imo

The problem is that we don't know the fee a priori so we are a bit conservative to increase the odds of finding a route and to make sure there is no possibility of the account going below 0. This is purely to cover the Lightning routing fees, at the moment we do not have any fees for monetization.

Nope, nwc.getalby.com only works for alby hosted wallets. You would need to ask lntipbot to integrate NWC.
There is money in your Alby account, right? nwc.getalby.com can only work with the custodial Alby wallet, which needs to have sats in it.
You need to import your Alby account in Zeus (by exporting the LNDhub credentials from the extension), then you can use Zeus to do LNURL auth and log into that same account.
How much money do you have in your Alby account?
I don't know what the reasoning was but they can't go around refusing to pay the most common form of invoice that gets used today...

The most likely thing is that Zeus has a bug and doesnt display the fee
