Knowing that wives are supposed to be submissive to their husbands should also make women stop and think before getting married. Too many women marry a man who needs fixing or mothering instead of a strong, Christian, loving man who would be easier to submit to. Knowing I have to submit made me careful on who I decided to marry. I married a bit late because I was unwilling to compromise. He was worth the wait.

We can't afford even one tiny war with an incompetent, unarmed populace.

I definitely prefer snow than cold rain. Rain when it is 70 - 100 F is completely different than rain when it is 35-50 F. The latter is miserable.

We'll get plenty of snow this winter. Last winter we got lots of snow. The ground was covered with snow most of the time from November till early April with a few small snows after that that melted quickly. We even got one snow that was >3 feet and took us 3 days to get out.

This weekend my church hosted the African Children's Choir which sang and danced at our church. The kids come from extreme poverty In Uganda and get an education and get to travel the US performing with the choir. They were such a joy. We hosted 4 of the boys and a chaperone (who had been in the choir as a kid) at our home.

We got to take them up on the mountain to see snow for the first time and play in the snow. The joy of sledding down a short steep hill, having snowball fights, and building a snowman filled the mountain with the sound of laughter and squeals of joy. It was so much fund.

We got to play with them, have devotions with them, and sing hymns and Christmas songs with them. They were so joyful, loving, and polite. They would say things like "Auntie, thank you for this wonderful meal. May I be excused" and then carry their plates and silverware to the sink. (Everyone older is called Auntie or Uncle as a sign of respect). We were greeted every morning with a hug and got a hug and a goodnight every evening. They even sang a hilarious thank you song after our group meal. What a blessing!

By the time I headed home, the snow had already melted. We did get an insane amount of rain for our climate. I'm surprised I didn't see any flooding.

Not enough snow for doughnuts in a parking lot.

We got some snow (in Wyoming) on Wednesday afternoon, but it only stuck around for a couple of hours probably because it rained for about 36 hours beforehand. I'm betting we got around and inch (or even more) of rain. We don't get rains like that very often.

I can't think of an exception. Government regulators always end up defending their favorites among those regulated (usually those who pay well or provide future inducements) rather than protecting the public like they were created to do. At this point, I think we'd be better off with zero regulation on almost everything.

The snow has arrived. It's been raining nonstop for at least 36 hours and is hitting freezing now. I hope the roads home aren't too bad.

An appropriate analogy for the US, modern culture, and much more. Nobody wants to acknowledge the problems. They seem to think if they ignore the problems that they will magically go away. That isn't how it works. The problems only get worse.

It looks like winter arrives this week. We're predicted to get 0.36 inches of rain Wednesday night and then 3.7 inches of snow Thursday night.

As busy as I am, I've got to get a few more things done outside today before the weather hits.

I had one of the most productive weekends I've had in a while. I got my work work done on the computer. I did things inside like making my food grade body butter and other things like that. I also got a bunch of things done outside to get ready for winter that looks like is hitting the end of this week. I even got my email cleared out and cookies cleared out on my computer. I wish I was always this efficient. Hopefully I can have another productive day today, after finishing homeschooling my son.

I bought some comfrey roots last spring, but got them too early so I planted them in pots. I had an insanely busy summer so didn't get them planted when it was ideal. I got several plants moved outside to my garden about a month ago. I need to get the last 2 planted outside today. We are supposed to get some good rain starting Wednesday night that should get them acclimated quickly, hopefully. I just hope going from a temperature controlled house to nights dipping slightly below freezing won't hurt them too badly.

I love aspen leaves on the snow.

We might be getting our first snow on Friday. We've had several nights go below freezing. I just disconnected all of my hoses and timers for my garden and we had our sprinkler system blown out (It hadn't been working for a month or two. It looks like our irrigation pump in our well went out.)

We don't actually need a wall (walls can keep people in as well as out, ie. Berlin Wall). We could stop most of the immigration problems if we quit giving all of the illegals freebies. If they didn't get free housing, free food, free healthcare, and free education, most of the people would stop coming. The few that came would mostly be hard workers who want to assimilate and that would actually improve America. All we need to do is pass a law that says not one penny goes to anyone who isn't an American (I'd like to stop a lot more spending, but that is a start)

It is sad how many people prefer a comfortable lie over the uncomfortable truth. If they won't wake up and see the truth, they can't fix the problems we have.
