I just picked up Calvin's "Institutes of the Christian Religion", that I had gotten away from reading while I read several other books. This passage stuck out to me. It is very profound.
Ironically many of my Catholic friends don't like Calvin, but Calvin quotes Augustine, who they respect greatly, almost continually. This quote is Calvin quoting Augustine. The longer passage is great, but this is the summary quote. Ch XVI, section 4, near the end.
"Thus in a marvelous and divine way He loved us even when He hated us. For he hated us for what we were that he had not made; yet because our wickedness had not entirely consumed his handiwork, he knew how, at the same time, to hate in each one of us what we had made, and to love what he had made.
The Roman Republic probably wouldn't be too bad. The Roman Empire probably wouldn't be much different than the US today.
FYI, I live at the outer limits of where there is a chance of seeing northern lights. Last summer, there was a geomagnetic storm that seemed like I should see some. A friend posted on social media that he had seen some. I went outside and looked North. I thought I might see something, but couldn't tell if it was my mind wanting to see lights in the dark. I got out my cell phone and turned on the camera. I was able to get some great shots and some video of the northern lights. If you think you might see them, but can't see well, use your cell phone camera and you might be surprised.

A perfect illustration of the current US government.
Does anyone honestly believe we still live in a free country or a country where justice is blind?

When I saw Ramaswamy step down as a candidate for President, endorse Trump, and then do a talk together, I thought it looked like he was trying to get the VP slot with Trump. Now Trump is saying he's already picked his VP (although he isn't saying who it is). When asked if Trump would reconcile with any of his opponents, he replied strongly affirmative. I could be wrong, but my theory is that Trump and Ramaswamy have come to an agreement and Ramaswamy will be Trump's VP.
As good as Ramaswamy sounds when he talks, I don't trust him and don't think he is the bastion of liberty and honesty that he pretends to be. I hope Trump isn't making a terrible mistake and picking a poison pill as VP.

I've been hearing/reading a lot about this hypothetical "disease X" which is coming and supposedly going to kill 20% more people than covid-19. Supposedly hundreds of scientists/doctors are working on treatments and vaccines, but it is supposedly hypothetical. The WEF had a session on dealing with Disease X last week.
Before the "covid pandemic", the powers that be met together to discuss a "hypothetical" corona virus pandemic. This was less that 2 months before the real thing, which we later come to find out was a created virus form a lab. It seemed overly coincidental and convenient and makes me wonder if covid was released on purpose.
We now have the WHO (World Health Organization) treaty scheduled to be voted on in May. This treaty would allow the director of WHO to declare a health emergency and over-ride all the world governments on how to deal with the emergency. This would be absolute tyranny. It is possible that this talk is supposed to scare countries into signing the treaty, but I am worried that they already have the Disease X virus in a lab ready to release, kill people, generate fear, and cause the people to clamor for countries to sign on to the treaty. I hope I'm wrong.
Be prepared and never allow fear to cause you to give up your freedom and sovereignty.
This is just one of the articles I've read.
But they can't take your Bitcoin.
The problem is I am homeschooling my son and he sits there constantly nosing us begging to get let out. I'm close to letting him go out and leaving him there. He is a big dog with thick fur, so he will be fine, even if he is a little uncomfortable.
I don't know what the deal is, he will ignore us until the moment we start school and then he won't leave us alone. My son is easily distracted, so it really can be a problem.
It is 6 F and the wind is blowing the snow horizontal.
My dog begs to go outside. I let him out. Five minutes later he is begging to come inside because it is miserable outside. Five minutes later it starts again in a never ending cycle.
I'm with you Beave. Skip the metal and just listen to some great classical music.
I'll have to look into that.
I've wondered for a while what my good Catholic friends think about the leadership of the Catholic Church. Those in charge seem totally corrupt and even anti-Christian.
It looks like at least one ArchBishop agrees with me. I'll have to pray for his safety. He is risking a lot to speak out as strongly as he has.
There are a lot of godly catholics, that I highly respect, around the world, but I am not a fan of the entity that is Catholic Church. Like every other organization of men, over time it is corrupted and usually becomes the antithesis of what it was meant to be.
I don't mean to be offensive and hope the faithful and godly Catholics don't take it personally. I have great respect for them.
Now it mostly makes sense if you buy a lot of gift cards where you get a significantly higher percent. The spins don't give much (better than nothing and may become a significant amount of value in a decade or more). Since Fold is a debit card, many places make you do a debit charge which pays you only 0.5% on Fold. There are still some good percentages on gift cards though.
It is also possible your friend was around a recently vaccinated person who was shedding spike proteins.
My work software won't let me log in when my VPN is on, but I can turn it on after logging in and use it (I don't understand that at all). Reading your post made me realize, I'd failed to turn it back on after logging into my work software. Thanks.
My son who is now 18 and totally scared of girls, had a little girl that he had a little crush on in 2nd grade. I was asking about various friends and when I asked what he liked about this little girl, he said, "I like the way she looks from behind." I started to ask what he meant and then decided that I didn't want to know. I'm going to assume he just meant that he liked her hair. Ignorance is bliss.
I use Strike to dollar cost average buying BTC. It works well. I have 3/4 of my strike direct deposit auto buy right when the money arrives and 1/4 I manually buy when I see a mini-dip. It has worked well except that they stopped direct deposit for a bit while switching to running their own system and that was during the recent low.
I also use Fold. I've liked it and done well, but I don't bring in nearly as much now as I used to. I think it is still probably worth doing, but I'm not as excited about it as I was. I wish they'd quit paying out big for a few people and make everyone make a little more. They brag about paying out whole bitcoins, but that just means we get squat. I've bought a $500 gift card and earned triple spins (150) and earned barely over 1000 sats.
Although I think kids are the greatest blessing, I also don't think everyone should have kids. If you don't want kids and/or aren't willing to sacrifice for your kids, you probably would make a terrible parent and it's better you don't have kids.
They are complaining about a problem they want. The only reason, a woman would wear a shirt like that, is if she was trying to get attention and have everyone looking at her. It is so sad when that is what a woman/girl resorts to.
