The Japanese have a word “Buji” which has a modern translation of ”peace, security, quietness”. However in Zen, "Buji" (無事) interpretation goes deeper than this. It identifies it as a state of being where everything is accepted as it is, without needing to achieve, or chase outcomes. It’s about being in the present moment without striving for more, about simplicity and non-attachment, of “nothing special”. This single concept and its application has done more to help me find calmness and centeredness than anything else I’ve learned in probably the last five years.
