It's not first. It's the first to implement payments with LN, but direct payments for posts on eocial media have been tried and failed before.
Most famous would probably be Libra by facebook that didn't even make it to launch iirc. Less known. but still applicable would probably be Steemit, which tried a similar concept, except that they created their own shitcoin for that.

It definitely is a fallacious debating tactic, but strictly speaking, ad hominem afaik only refers to that one specific use case.
Sadly, nowadays even dictionaries allow looser definitions on various terms to accomodate colloquial usage, which is yet another great debate to be had, bc it leads to a myriad of problems. Especially economics and politology are plagued by this.

Y'all are using the term "ad hominem" wrong. It's not a stand in replacement for a smearjob, an attack on character or just a general insult.
Ad hominem is a logical fallacy where you attempt to invalidate your opponent's argument BECAUSE OF their character.
"You are an idiot and you are wrong." is not an ad hominem.
"You are an idiot and that is why you are wrong" is an ad hominem.

I have read up on both and see a botched marketing scheme and a scam project where a guy wants to buy iris scans for eventually worthless tokens. What I see is just bullshit, not a grand conspiracy.
