Haha, touché. But when you look at billions of people in the world, how many of them want to take on the burden of remembering to make claims every two weeks on the money they already earned? Would you have to make arrangements if you decide to go on a 3 week trip where you don’t plan to be near your Ark wallet?
I’m open to learning more about Ark and other scaling solutions. This is a major piece that needs to be figured out if Ark ever wants to be viable.
It’s a regular discussion at our house. We enumerate all the benefits and think how great it could be. But also, our kids are active in school sports and we also do like much of the socialization they get. I know both of those may be remedied in a homeschooling solution, but there are always trade offs.
I’ll be bringing the topic up again at our next too-late-in-the-evening bedtime conversation.
The year 2015 called, it wants its OS name back.
macOS lets you set any browser as default. Maybe you need to shake it and then reset the PRAM.

Business up front, party in the back
If it’s not a flaw in their mind, that’s fine. Ark can’t be a consumer facing layer 2 solution with that UX. It could underpin a layer 3 solution that handles the claim management for the end user.
Sitting in a parking lot outside youth sports practice. Windows down, enjoying the birds and fresh air. Then some dude in an old pickup truck backs up in front of me and runs his engine for 20 minutes.
I don’t understand the need people feel to idle their car. It’s perfect weather outside. Air and noise pollution aside, you’re burning money.
Just grab a $1 bill and use that. No need to trade that paper for different paper. They are cheap and if you lose it, very plentiful.
That’s what I do.
I’m just messing with you from your typo.
Absolutely think Bitcoin companies should have a presence on Nostr. There is fruitful conversation happening here that they’re missing.
Ark is interesting. I’m glad that other layer 2 solutions are still being ideated and explored. IIRC there is a design flaw in Ark that requires people to get online within a short period of time or they could lose their funds. 2 weeks maybe? Someone please enlighten me so I’m not spreading FUD.
I’m only here to comment on the hotness of your pipe delimiters for hashtags. 🔥
I’m glad I’m not a Bitcoin company nor a Nostr. I’m glad I’m a Marks.

I know a main driver of the policy is money. Schools get budget based on attendance. Butts in seats make money. The incentives are broken.

My daughter’s class is doing a non-educational, all-day field trip to a place we aren’t thrilled about. We asked if we can just keep her home for the day instead, since all the other kids are getting an excused absence for this trip.
Not only did the school deny our request for an excused absence, they also informed us that if she missed one more day of school this year, it puts her over a threshold and she would need to attend summer school.
My daughter is a straight A student and a president in the student body.
