Bye #bitcoinpark #Nashville, the heart of the guardians of #bitcoin technologyđ«¶
Good news: we will have amazing testimonials in defence of the #PoW against the discriminatory political approach proposed by #EU Central Bank.
Thank you #Braiins Mining and nostr:npub10cxz2h7n6rumfpuf49zt4uvm7skzqk5u25vesp0tzdtnkvsnwjyqaffcj3 for inviting me âĄïžđ„
@skot9000 your #Bitaxe is just the cutest thing I saw â€ïžâđ„

#Bitcoin is a human right, if you donât defend it, you lose it.
Thank you nostr:npub1r8l06leee9kjlam0slmky7h8j9zme9ca32erypgqtyu6t2gnhshs3jx5dk for helping us to raise awareness about the ongoing attack on #PoW in the EU!
Thank you. Im in touch with them, but will ask again about introductions.
Realistically it is possible only in a combination with #bitcoin miners. Im a human rights defender and canât offer them mining services. I donât have capacity and expertise to be alone as a side in that talk. Im happy to work on it if someone from miners is ready to go together.
Letâs donât live in our perceptions but meet reality: I was asked dozens of times just to show what is #bitcoin and âto show bitcoinâ. They also shocked learning how easy banking data of the EU/US citizens can be weaponized just by the simple request from the dictator. So we need to educate them and show alternative.
Activists succeed to defend encryption and defending it with every attack. The same we should do with #bitcoin.
There are bad actors and good actors as everywhere. You canât convince bad actors but you can and should use your right, your privilege to execute what you want from the elected by you legislators and appointed on your taxes regulators - you are citizen most probably of the democratic country, no?
Look, I work with policymakers for over a decade. They are also people just like you and me. Some of them are bad actors, but not all of them. That is a beauty and privilege of the living in democracies. Im not speaking about authoritarian/dictatorship countries.
But to be more practical: look how bitcoiners also in fact apply censorship for activists not willing to associate /transact #bitcoin p2p with someone who opposes to regime publicly. As you can see - it is important for all of us to be not in a grey area.

Yes and no. I donât and partly canât operate in a grey zone for security reasons as human rights defender.
My security is provided by the EU state, which at least defends me from the physical/political attacks of dictators or their proxies.
We also need scalability of the use of bitcoin - access in the apple or google stores on mobile phones of activists in the authoritarian states.
We need our donors - ordinary private people not to be afraid to associate with us because of the use of âdangerous for environment technologyâ as it says in the mainstream narrative now or even worse- after labeling that way after the adoption of the regulation in favor for the proposal of the European Central Bank.
The same unfortunately with EU policymakers: we need their support to defend political prisoners in the authoritarian countries - we donât have other mechanisms. So we have to win/change their minds.
The good news - we can do it and we did it in the past many times. We just need to have support from bitcoin miners.
I propose:
1) prepare joint submission of bitcoin miners & human rights defenders testimonials. We did the first version of it to ESMA, but honestly there are just a few voices, we need more to be representative:
https://en.odfoundation.eu/a/724499,defend-pow-submission-to-esma/
2) to conduct over 200 face-to-cafe meetings before June 2024 with EU politicians and regulators to educate them so they can ask questions they will never ask in public as we did in the past on other regulations: https://en.odfoundation.eu/a/723762,btc-coalition-summary-of-works-2022-2023/
3) support our campaign so we have capacity to work on that issue systematically:
You are right, but it doesnât help to change narrative about #bitcoin, we have to be effective in our actions.
Fine, Im going to BTC Prague. So maybe we can meet there. âĄïž
Alex, for some reasons, Pablo seems to attack different people just without any grounds.
Hope to meet you offline sometime!
You donât need to urge me. Open Dialogue Foundation- my organization - doesnât get any funds from the state institutions. We are operating thanks to micro donations of thousands of private persons and companies.
I donât want to be underground using #bitcoin. Why #BlackRock should be allowed to trade token of bitcoin and human rights activists would hide in underground ?! No way. We should defend our rights.
Greenwar is a FUD business. Their business model is to generate profits from fear. they have no incentive to be rationale or educated about anything. that would be contrary to their mission.
a good book to check out is https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/56918041-fake-invisible-catastrophes-and-threats-of-doom written by cofounder of Greenpeace
Greenwar just like AML/CFT laws abused to make this world even more discriminating. The idea and reason to defend environment is important and we need it, but solutions proposed to deal with it brings us to opposite results.
When you say that EU has no more sense - I would argue that we live in the world where a lot of things or to be precise institutions and their rules have no sense.
But where are you going to move ? To authoritarian states?
We live in the new reality and new order, where those whom we delegated our rights to rule on our behalf in democracies do not able to respond properly to attacks from dictators.
It is a complex problem and you canât hide from it, it is affecting all of us and we can solve it only jointly, understanding our responsibility for that process. #Bitcoin is a part of that solution but in the global context it can be also killed if there is no people defending it.
No one asks you to participate in our discussion if you donât want to.
Patience is a good quality, but learning and ability to listen other sides opinions before labeling someone with empty statements it is also a very good quality. Imagine that most of politicians would have your attitude towards to #bitcoin or you personally: that is an experience usually activists have in authoritarian regimes.
So if you want to be constructive- bring your arguments and participate in the open, respectful discussion. I managed to resist to 3 dictatorship attacks and smear campaign in more than 20 languages against me and I donât allow them to silent me or my activists. So I'm more than resistant to your labels and emotions and donât want you to attack my readers also. But I'm happy to answer if there is rationality in your questions.
Im sorry, but it is your wrong perception, just can wish you to come back to the reality. I have nothing to do with this strange teenager and your fear.
We are at #nostr, not dictatorship space. You donât like my position - unfollow me or argue your position, donât put just empty labels.
The fight on the AML Regulation is also not ended, there are a lot of things to do, especially in the defense of p2p transactions and self-hosted wallets.
But again we succeeded in the EU to expose the need of protection of the data of crypto assets services providers and banks from the abuse of third countries. In the US this debate and work on the new AML package just has started.
