I just want to say to the powers that be... if you think I'm doing something wrong please just contact me. I'm very law abiding, I'm risk averse, and I've always avoided anything that I think is legally nebulous (e.g. money transfer services).

I think it is a big stretch to think that nostr developers or even relay operators are government targets at this time. We are just developing a new Internet protocol. AFAIK we aren't supporting illegal content and we aren't refusing to take down illegal content. The powers that be need only ask and we will (in the main IMHO) comply with all lawful demands.

BTW, none of you rely on me not taking down your stuff. All of you have the self-power to be fully distributed and censorship resistant. So my compliance with a lawful government demand should not affect your ability to be heard (if you are using nostr correctly).

Also, I will burn gossip before I ever allow in any kind of government backdoor. No law compels me to write code for them. (Actually I'll just stop development, I won't burn it, but you should keep a local git clone).

nostr is still censorship resistant even if they came and shut most of us down. You can just stand up your stuff somewhere else and make them play whack-a-mole. That is the architecture that we cannot change now even if we wanted to or were compelled to by force.

As world conflict ramps up, controlling the narrative becomes a strategic lever that most nations want to pull. That means censorship is on the rise and personal liberty is on the decline. I don't think this is a permanent thing, a big brother one world government is a silly fear IMHO. Rather, I think it is a current trend reflecting the current trend of increased world conflict. During the next peace, liberties will come back and censorship will wane again. In the mean time, please take care.

So even writing code is now bad OPSEC?

Running a self-sovereign LN node is nothing more than an OPSEC trap. In other words, if you run a node by yourself, you're asking for potentially get "burned" (basically, bad OPSEC mistakes).

Now, expect RFK Jr. to get whack'd, since they're calling for it.

That's certainly centralization faking decentralization. Simple as that.

Actually, they need Monero at this point, as BTC is COMPROMISED now.

That would probably be a suited man (like myself) saving people from the evil that is bad OPSEC (somewhat) and proprietary poopware. He's not a hero in a cape, but in a formal suit.

Well, "Orange" is equal to the number 33 in Full Reduction gematria, "Nakamoto" is equal to 31 (the inverse of 13) in Chaldean gematria.

The name Satoshi Nakamoto, in Japanese, translates to "Innovation from a central point of origin". Could this explain part of why nostr:npub1g0587hzzckcncxfm78n0996qe2s58nspy29wf02tqcj5sdzcpj4q6j40hv thinks that way, or is there more to it than I had just described?

Good evening,

I don't think I had told anybody this on Nostr, but I happened to be a self-proclaimed author, not having published anything as of yet. That's one of my hobbies I like to engage in from time to time.

For those unaware, I had published a draft of a campaign for the Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game (A D&D B/X-like retroclone with modern D&D mechanics like ascending armor class), but it was just that, a draft; 8 of them to be exact. There was a tournament module I had also made drafts of, designed for PVP play.

Otherwise, I'm doing either regular novels or light novels (basically, novels if the paragraphs were only 1-3 sentences long; very popular in Asia, primarily Japan). I had not published any of these yet, but one I was working on during my weekly one-day rests (which are on Saturdays right now) is a reverse dystopian novel I had chiseled away at for about a year or two (and I'm still not done yet). I might not finish it within this year at the rate I'm going at.

If you're interested in reading my work, I'd love to know where you'd read it if it's Nostr-based.

Oh dear goodness.... Yeah, localizers today suck in the west. They deserve to be replaced by AI.

Good afternoon,

It seems the new thing is Simply Bitcoin (according to nostr:npub1gu47n7fxfm4py48jktmu6tdqcvva4e87fntynuzzf62zxnw2e7tsc6907g) was banned off of YouTube because he advocated for a BTC-centric life.

In my humble opinion, why you'd be banned for simply recommending the use of BTC in your life is completely bananas, but the YouTube algorithm has bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder on steroirds, and it has an aneurysm whenever someone actually speaks their mind on certain topics.

My views on Discord, for example, got a video's reach on my channel, CoculesNation, restricted as a result. No violations of ToS or anything like that, but the algorithm had a nosebleed when I talked about Discord being weaponized against all individuals who use it, since it's good blackmail material and a good way to practice bad OPSEC. That's why I stopped using Discord a few years ago, and even deleted my account. I'm glad I did just that.

I feel bad for you, Nico. Let's hope you go onto other platforms like Odysee or Flare sometime soon.

Well, are there services that allow one (like me) to mirror their entire YouTube library onto a Nostr-based video streaming service? I'd need to look into that.

Good evening,

I have finally decided on when I'll be posting my second album, and this one's a doozy for me. The release date for the 14 track album will be Thursday September 12, 2024 at 3:00 pm PDT. I will need a cover art, and I'm not willing to use AI for that.

The name of the LP is "Touhou Igousaken ~ The Failure of Witchcraft", which is to be either a Touhou-style Hifuu or Fake Fangame Album full of just original bossa nova compositions by me (and a technical groove metal piece as well for one track). The music for this album will be licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 for your convenience to use in any video, as long as I'm credited.

If it's made into a game, I'd like to see the game be an AFPS (Arena First-Person Shooter) made in an open-source engine like Godot or Flax. Heck, I'd be happy to do QA and playtesting for it as well, if the game were to be made. It MUST also be Free Software (I think GPL license will do for the source code ONLY, the assets are proprietary), since it's made using a Free Software engine. The entirety of the album would need to be implemented as well. Feel free to DM me where it's best convenient for you if you want details of what I see this project being.

It details one of the characters (a few unlocked from the start) going through a deathmatch-style tournament to face a nine-tailed half-human half-kitsune tod (male fox) youkai, who organized the tournament. You, as that character, need to defeat opponents (chosen at random) in order to advance through the tournament bracket with advanced moves (think CPMA or Quake III: Arena movement), spell cards that are fun to use (think Unreal Tournament 99 or 04 balance in terms of weaponry), and stages designed for balance of both aspects (think Xonotic mapping). I have a lot of ideas, if you can't tell....

That's the idea, and that's why I'm making this post for the music. It won't be a Wednesday, but that's because I don't need to do only Wednesdays, personally speaking. Have a good rest of your night otherwise.

In terms of meditating, square breathing exercise for me (4 in, 4 hold, 4 out, 4 hold is what I do).
