Hey nostr:npub13lkyycj8s3da6fhndtj0wd6s3s2ahmq86s7wrruvzd4tnc66cgfqn4lpsy is there an ETA about the video of your keynote in Lugano? I see you uploaded the text and slides on your Homepage, that's a nice start š
I'd like to share it to some peers, reading long articles on Smartphones is not for everyone though...
Ask and you shall receive!
Apparently itās striking a chord: itās now the most watched talk from the conference!

I always aligned more strongly to virtue ethics during my philosophy study. On leaving university I realised that the trichotomy was limited, a āWesternā take on ethics and became much more aligned to Vedanta, where ethics is an organic byproduct of metaphysics, not a separate course of study - and where philosophy and science were seen as two sides of the same coin, as they originally were in Greek thought also.
Bloomberg, Forbes, TVNZ, MSN, Financial Times, The Hill, The Independent (Ireland), Euro News, MIT Technology Review, One Green Planet, Cornell University, Yahoo Finance and other MSM outlets all published positive press on Bitcoin mining this year.
Probably nothing
Bloomberg -
Bitcoin Miners Draw From Icelandās Surplus of Renewable Energy
MSN - Bitcoin Mining Going Green?
Financial Times ā Mini hydro plants subsidized by Bitcoin mines in Kenya
The Hill - Bitcoin mining is energizing sustainability through green innovation
TVNZ documentary - WFT is Crypto: Bitcoin Mining Episode

Thanks. Iāll check him out.
so I guess you agree that the best way to orange pill is like this? š¤£

Oh thatās great. Iāll have to try that technique. š¤£
Proud day
Not a bitcoin book. Though it does open-source the blueprint I use for changing false-narratives.
⦠and itās got an orange cover.
Interesting take. So what is your opinion on Carl Saganās testimony on the subject?
JUST IN:
Bitcoin's CEO Satoshi Nakamoto issues statement
"Unlike Bitcoin, the electricity that powers a Tesla still comes mainly from fossil fuels. Once Telsa can show us data proving their electricity-mix comes mainly from sustainable sources, we'll let them to use Bitcoin to buy Teslas again."
Because while Malthusian assumptions are wrong and degrowth is not the answer, I do agree that there are limits to how much CO2 we can pump into the atmosphere, nitrogen into the earth, and plastic into the ocean.
Secondly because itās a matter of choosing your battles. What is (relatively) easy: showing ICs that Bitcoin is net positive to the environment.
What is very hard: trying to change the decision-making rubric of the worldās ICs.
I need your help with something - data !
Context: Iāve been getting feedback that this is the best attempt Iāve made to diffuse the ābitcoin is bad for the environmentā FUD-bomb.

The first half picks apart the flaws in the Cambridge model and replaces them with a more reliable model of Bitcoinās emissions.
The second half looks at why Bitcoin is the greatest ESG asset of all time.
I break down, with data, why Bitcoin is the best ESG asset across 6 categories.
Hereās the data Iām after:
Iām very interested to hear how it lands with pre-coiners
Please feed back to me what they say, so I can see
A. where people still get stuck and
B. what messages resonate the most so I can keep improving how I communicate this message, because if we know what works we can all disarm environmental FUD and increase user adoption of bitcoin faster.
Thanks!
Depends on the contract they have. But Iād just ask them straight up āare you incentivized to find ways to make the operation more profitable either by reducing cost or increasing revenue?ā
I recently sat down with Nik Bhatia, author of Layered Money, to talk about why Bitcoin is Green Tech.
We cover
1. How I came to realized that Bitcoin mining was the solution to reducing emissions, not a problem
2. How Bitcoin can become the world's first industry to reduce more emissions than it produces (without offsets)
3. Why Carbon Credits and Bitcoin mining are like a Nik Cave and Kylie Minogue duet.

Love it! Action only. Let me know if you want some tips in what other bitcoin miners have found the best way to engage them. In a nutshell: cut to the chase : work out how much additional money they can earn per month through selling you power. Lead with this.
My latest article quantifies the value of changing the ESG narrative on Bitcoin: $1Trillion
(Over $50k addition value per bitcoin)

Lugano Keynote just got uploaded
āWhy Bitcoin is the worldās best ESG Assetā
Just saw the UN had published a report on Bitcoin mining.
Itās a historical account of Bitcoin mining during 2020-21. (When China and Kazakhstan) were the main hashing nations.
Because the mining map has changed completely since then, it is not relevant to today, more a nostalgic pre-China ban view that shows how fast Bitcoin mining has migrated to sustainable power in a short time.
Any journalists that pick up the report as though it is a statement of the current power mix of bitcoin mining are showcasing how little they have studied the basics of bitcoin mining.
In terms of the implication bitcoin datacenters have a big land footprint, I would say ācompared to what?ā
Solar panels?
Traditional datacenters.
Bitcoin stacks up well on both counts
Because they consume much more power they have roughly 1/4 the land footprint of a traditional datacenter.
Next.
Just finished Lugano keynote
Iām seeing more and more narrative flips this year.
Finance Magnates had been consistently negative about Bitcoin mining until this month (when it seems the KPMG report completely flipped their thinking)
āCorrecting outdated narratives and recognizing Bitcoin's positive contributions to environmental and social challenges will be essential to onboard investors into the digital asset economy.ā

Great piece as always. nostr:npub13lkyycj8s3da6fhndtj0wd6s3s2ahmq86s7wrruvzd4tnc66cgfqn4lpsy what is the typical lifespan of a methane omitting landfill site?
Are we talking 10, 20 or 50 years?
Iām guessing it depends on the density, depth and overall volume of the siteā¦..Love to hear more this point. š
Generally more like 40-50 years.
Can be even longer.
From the point the landfill is closed itāll still emit enough methane for powergen for another 15-20 years.
My latest piece on why Bitcoin is good for the environment just went live on Blockworks
