Seems Cyclone Alfred can’t make up its mind. Folks in Brisbane are treating it like the end of days, but I reckon it’s a mix of catastrophe daydreaming, safety paranoia, and a sneaky bid for a long weekend.

Replaced Nextcloud and Apache with Caddy for reverse proxying and automated TLS certificates. Now running Electrs alongside other self-hosted tools for file sharing, media, and backups—all with encryption in transit.
Since Caddy doesn’t handle raw TCP for Electrs, I added Nginx solely to terminate TLS while letting Caddy manage the certificates. Simple, secure, and highly recommended for Bitcoin self-hosters!
I've using Obsidian and sync files to the server using Syncthing so that they're available on my desktop and mobile. Seems to work alright.
I don't follow. What was stolen?
I think that I'll do incremental backups of my Seafile libraries using WebDAV mounts to ensure raw files are backed up and avoid relying on Seafile for restoration.
FileRun isn't open source though.
I'm trialing Seafile anyway and share your reservations about a proprietary storage format even though it has some benefits. I came across FileRun. Have you used it? Maybe a better alternative?
Looking to move to this from Nextcloud. How have you found it? I use the Nextcloud as a Snap package and the included Apache reverse proxy is bossy and makes too hard to host other services on the same server. Storing and sharing files is about all we do with it so Seafile seems a much better fit.
If you'd like extra guidance or need privacy-respecting reports to satisfy auditors (especially for SMSFs, corporate and HNWIs), CertainKey can help.
PROOF OF KEYS - 3 JAN
Digital signatures are the standard for verifying control of bitcoin.
Test your backups, challenge your multisig cosigners. Shut your auditor up.
Be resilient by using Gatekeeper to run periodic key audits. It's open source, transmits nothing and works offline.
If you feel like verifying signatures, I made this to support the process.
This'd is at 100x right so ONLY a 10 bitcoin loss... 🤮
Hold into your hats, boys. Super cycle talk is reemerging.
