Ok #writingcommunity , help me please. In a future where phones have been replaced with neural implants, and participating in society without an implant is next to impossible: What would be the nickname / slur for people who choose not to have an implant?

Things I thought of but didn't like : Relics, Offliners, Discos (as in disconnected).

Any ideas?

What's your favourite drink while writing

Though I have a deep love of coffee, my body doesn't really like me drinking it after lunch... so much of my writing is done with a mug of tea next to me.

That, or water... since I do a lot of writing when I'm out and about and then I'll just have a water bottle with me.

No, that would feel unethical. I do use character traits from people I know, but I've never transplanted a real person into a story wholesale.

So, things I did not expect.

A few months ago, I wrote a ghost story about a cat dying. I poured a lot of my own grief over my cat into it, and shed quite a few tears while writing it.

Today, I figured I'd try my hand at translation, and picked that story. I didn't count on getting hit with the full force of emotion yet again.

So here I am, translating with tears on my face... how's your day going? 😅
