I finally did it… I updated nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 and gave up native zaps.

It was tough, I almost wondered if I could stay on the old version forever, but I decided the time had come. Goodbye old Damus with zaps, you will be missed 🫡

For what it’s worth zapple pay works well.

If such a system were to exist and were to be free of fiat influence, then I'd expect scamming to possibly, but not certainly, have a short term benefit to the scammer but always eventually end in social, and perhaps even physical ostracism. However we don't live in that system and fake money can prop up fake people for a long time until confidence in that money is lost.

In theory sure, but such a system works only when those “nudging” obtained their positions, reputation, and resources through merit, and where those doing the “nudging” would suffer the consequences of being wrong (loss of status, respect, resources, etc.). None of these “policymakers” can make any such claim, nor do they face consequences if they “nudge” incorrectly.

Anything resembling “nudging” by cantillionaires is abhorrent and in no way something I would advocate for. I don’t think it’s really a workable system except long after the adoption of a sound money standard, fiat “nudging” is even worse than the status quo.

Shame and ostracism are far more preferable to violence as solutions to anti-social behavior. This is true both on a moral and a practical level.

That's just what the vampire potbelly goblins want you to think.
