It needs to not be exportable again from the app if it’s imported this way
Started a bounty for importing nsec as a QR code from a secure hardware device like Passport:
https://github.com/vitorpamplona/amethyst/issues/328
So far we have 750k sats pledged, really look forward to this as it will greatly simplify logins from a secure, air-gapped device! Step by step we'll get better key management with better backup options by leveraging the infrastructure we already use for our Bitcoin keys.
How to support this bounty without making an account anywhere? Not ideal but can I just give you XMR #[1] and you forward it along when the time is right? Will add 1M sats (equivalent) to bounty if I can do it this way or privately somehow.
#[2] I was reading about storage on android and it looks like it should be possible for you to prompt for the storage picker: “Additionally, both modern and legacy Android apps can open the system file picker interface to have the user store or load one or more files/directories on their behalf. This type of access doesn't require any of the permissions listed above. “
From: https://grapheneos.org/usage#storage-access
Personally I’d prefer this method as you’re just uploading individual files anyway, no reason to ask for full access to all pics on a phone.
This is what Damus does so you can upload photos in the app without it ever asking for photo permissions
#[2] ah so no way to just prompt directly for the system file manager instead of all photos permission? Like on iOS there’s photo permission but also just the system photo picker to give an app individual files only.
#[0] hi, so why does Amethyst ask for photo/video permission? I denied it with grapheneOS and gave it storage scope permission instead (tricks app into thinking I gave it the permission it asked for). But I can still use system file manager to select photos anyway, so why did you need the photos/video permission? Thanks
With the concerted efforts going on to cut off Bitcoin from banks over the last few weeks, we focused our latest blog post on how you can buy and sell Bitcoin peer-to-peer - no banks required 🤝

Shoutout to @#[0], AgoraDesk, HodlHodl, @#[1], and Bisq for the amazing tools they've built.
Tagging doesn’t seem to be working properly for your posts
#[3]
#[3] like this, see the nested structure with colored bars to keep track of how deep in the nested structure a comment is, easily collapsible at any level, sortable by various criteria.
Imo Reddit (& specifically the UI of Apollo) has this solved.
What about Reddit’s model of threading but then user can sort the threads however they want, by top voted (zapped?), recent, etc.
Cc: #[4] (as always). I haven’t got too far into the technicals, but isn’t it kind of similar to what #[3] is asking for with nostr DMs?
Isn’t SimpleX kind of what you’re looking for? Relay based but not directly using nostr
Will, look at how amethyst handles this conversation/thread vs Damus. I cannot tell who Vitor replying to/context of the note either in the main timeline *or* when I click it directly

#[7] #[3]
I tagged at the bottom because Damus bug cannot look up tags/npubs if you move text input cursor anywhere in the note except at the tail end (wrote this part after tagging).
Thanks
Doing this also sends the data of whatever you are translating to Apple. Something to keep in mind 😳
Not if you’re using it offline, but yea no way to prove its actually offline. We need some AI model that can be stored and run locally for translation… it’s only a matter of time
