I wonder if one could make a blockchain that is a neural net thing and every block modifies its parameters and that influences how it validates and interprets the next block and so on.

Or: what are people doing when they try to combine "blockchain + AI" in order to scam people? That was the best I could come up with.

I guess I just vibe coded a V4V Netflix replacement 🤷

What if movies & shows worked like Podcasting 2.0? What if you could grab a video from anywhere, usenet, torrent, whatever, and you could verify it's from the creator. Then when you watch it, they get sats streamed to them. What if they set up a prism to forward sats to everyone who worked to produce it, WHILE you watch it?

Would you pay for movies that you would normally pirate, if it was easy AF to get the movie and to pay what you think it was worth? Would we even need content distributors anymore? Just blast out your movie!

What if the creator could get insight into how much of a movie the audience watches, based on the sats streamed? Or if they get boosted at the really good parts of the movie? Wouldn't that incentivize making really good films?

In just a few hours, with no coding done by me, I have an app that can:

Connect to my AlbyHub via NWC.

Read the metadata of a video file to detect embedded lightning addresses.

Streams 10 sats per minute to that address.

Can you see how huge this is? Not just the fact that some rando that can't code made this. But what something like this could enable for creators and provide a ton of value for audiences?

There's no real UI yet. I just wanted to get a proof of concept working. But it does what it's supposed to. I can stream sats to myself to watch an MP4 I made this morning for my meetup. Ran a quick command to add a lightning address to the file's metadata, and the app read it. 30 sats went from my Alby wallet to my Btcpayserver.

My name is max, I am a photographer based in Newport Beach, Southern California. I grew up in Lake Tahoe, Ca.

I shoot surfing, skiing, lifestyle, and whatever else I find interesting or someone’s pays me to shoot.

I love it. It’s my job and hobby.

I live to be outside, either surfing or skiing or hangin. Don’t care as long as I’m not stuck in an office.

Sports marketing is another thing I’m weirdly passionate about and love making content for athletes, as I used to be a competitive skier.

Big fan of this community. I’m a little new and still figuring it all out, but freedom and autonomy are things I value greatly, and it seems to me that these are pillars here, so that’s exciting.

Sometimes when I tell people that children and family are the meaning of life they get triggered.

“It’s not for everyone” they’ll say.

And granted the odds that you find deep rooted and lasting meaning in some sort of passion, hobby or career is not zero….

But let’s be honest it’s pretty damn close to zero.

I say this not to trigger or shame, but because it’s true.

Just like Bitcoin is the truth so is this.

Children are the meaning of life.

It’s why we are here.

Why do coins still exist? Couldn’t we just agree to round up or round down collectively and just do away with them? If something cost 5.05 just pay 5. If it’s 5.51 just pay 6. Should balance out eventually and everything would reprice in whole units 🤔

As a father, husband, friend, community member etc…

I don’t always if ever live up to the expectations I have for myself, but I continue to strive upwards.

Bitcoiners from 2015 would have resolved this by now.

Writing a sci fi manuscript, and continuing to fine tune it, made me do a ton of extra research on current trends in AI, biotech, material science, and VR. Like a big refresh.

Not because the text focuses in detail on this tech (it doesn’t), but rather so that I have a general idea of what technologies are likely to come before or after other ones, to create what seems (at least to me) a reasonably coherent future world (with one big unrealistic extra thing I threw in there for fun).

There are a lot of different path dependencies or “alternate timelines” for how the world could look in say 2030, 2040, 2050, and so on. So no sci fi vision can be said to fully predict things. And for example, we don’t fault the movie Blade Runner for not accurately predicting what 2019 would be like in 1982.

But my goal is to be “well-considered.” Plausible. Or at least, plausible in the places where I am intending to be the most plausible.

For example if I read a space opera set 500 years in the future and AI is nowhere to be found, or minimally so, I am distracted by this unless given a plausible explanation. The explanation of “the author didn’t think about it” isn’t good enough, at least for something that big.
