"Newcomer Experience" over a half hour on Iris.to
- account setup was not intuitive, but easy enough to figure out (if you understand what private keys are about, which most people don't)
- relays load slowly and it's hard to know where to start
- slow loading posts make it seem like nothing's working. patience is key
- people are (unsurprisingly) friendly, welcoming, and trigger happy with those zaps
- global view has lots of photos of flowers and nature
Overall a very positive first few minutes.
Thank you for the boost! Figuring out iris.to tonight ๐
That's why I'm trying out Iris ๐
Ooh got it got it
Did it just a couple minutes ago. Does the lightning bolt show up on my reply?
Tip versus zap?
Think I got it. Just put my @alby address in there. Looks like it's showing up now. Thanks!

That's me.
Wow, that's awesome. Was wondering if we had met, but I grew up in the USA lol
What do you teach?
Love that idea. I set this up using Get Alby and Iris.to. and I see the lightning bolt on your comment but not mine, though. What am I overlooking?
You did!? When?? It's a pretty uncommon name. The only one's I've met, I'm related to...
Thank you! I'm using iris.to and it's pretty nice so far. Seems like posts load a bit slowly, though...
