Bitcoiner. Software Engineer. Fix the money, fix the world.

Twitter spaces used to be amazing. Great bitcoin speakers. Now it kinda sucks.

Is there a “spaces” for nostr?

Wife and I are in a deep show hole once we finish the gemstones. Appreciate the tip!

Does nostr have spaces? If not, will it ever? That’s really the main reason I still open the bird/doge app.

Been off of Damus for at least a month. It’s come a loooong way.

I’m working 2 extra contracts, stacking like a psychopath.

Welcome Lawrence! Super glad to see you here!!!

“Excuse me, do you have anything for varicose veins?”

My no-coiner boss says he's waiting for bitcoin to go back down before he'll consider buying any. Tried to orange pill him, but my orange-pill-fu is apparently lacking.

Lump sum (LS): one initial all-in purchase

Dollar cost averaging (DCA): even purchases made over a period of time

LS is a much better #bitcoin savings strategy compared to DCA.

The following analysis calculates the returns of each strategy across multiple time periods.

The longer the time period, the more likely LS will outperform a daily DCA strategy. In general, LS outperforms on up swings and DCA outperforms on down swings. Over the 3 & 4-year periods, the only time DCA outperforms is near cycle tops!

🟠: Lump Sum > DCA

🟢: DCA > Lump Sum

These figures show the returns for each analyzed period and with varying degrees of an initial LS + daily DCA. The bottom represents a 100% daily DCA strategy and the top represents a 100% LS strategy. The middle would be a 50% initial LS + 50% daily DCA strategy.

Over all time periods, the median return of the LS strategy is much greater than the median return of the daily DCA strategy. The longer the time period, the more pronounced this difference becomes.

LS is a high risk, higher rewards strategy. DCA is a more conservative strategy.

In summary, the LS strategy consistently outperforms the daily DCA strategy across every analyzed time period and throughout all of #Bitcoin's history.

When saving in #bitcoin, time in the market beats timing the market!

Wow, my naive instincts are to lump sump on the way up and DCA on the way down, although I don't actually do that because I figured that was just emotional noob behavior. Weird to think that's actually the better strategy.

"There is no red, there is no blue. There is the state and there is you." I love this quote.

Authoritarians vs self sovereigns is the meaningful struggle as far as I'm concerned.

@sirius very well done. This has the feel of quality software. Using several other clients, I was getting the feeling I was too early to nostr. Very impressed.

I hope a mobile version is coming!

So far, I'm REALLY liking iris.to. It's my favorite nostr client by far (including Damus).

It's fast, feels faster than twitter. Doesn't fail to update like counts. Always fetches user names/pics instantly. Also visibly connects replies together in the feed like twitter does.

Whoever is making this web client, great job! 👍
