i have no idea what i’m doing

it has a natural flavor. it’s kind of a resiny-sappy type flavor, but it’s super subtle.

Yeah, if you buy yourself a wireless router, just follow these directions:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-gateway-enable-disable-bridge-mode

Once you’ve enabled bridge mode, you can follow the directions that came with your router to set it up, and it’ll auto detect everything. You can do DNS in your router.

I can’t recommend ubiquity enough:

Even a router from Walmart should do DNS, just avoid the Google ones if you want control. They work good, but very few options. I’ve heard TPLink is good.

beautiful, going on my list. thank you so much!

oh man i figured there was a work around. i’m still new to all of this stuff so definitely not knowledgeable enough. i went to set up pi hole and that’s when i realized the DNS issue.

i am really glad to be here, man.

yup, i hate that you can’t edit any DNS settings. and if you do, comcast just bypasses it. nostr:note1h8yzh4hnpy2fpa7l60fhr4vfutdkcd34qfgx73355nwhy4hpdyaqaw6z37

yeah i mean i have a pretty good grasp of SQL my problem is just the higher level stuff and knowing when to use it

tbh i don’t like sql very much at all. seems very rigid and archaic. i’m decent enough with it as is. i just want to be able to do high-level sql (complex joins, subqueries, sprocs, views, etc) and identify when it’s necessary (this is the biggest gap for me. my mind just hasn’t quite reached the point where i look at a problem and i know what to do). i come to programming for a non-traditional background (blue collar work) so a lot of times i have to retrain my brain.
