Shower thoughts of the week:

"I should post about intruder drills in public schools" aka active shooter drills

"Wow JFK files... actions towards reducing the dept of Ed... what a week"

"I don't have anyone to talk to that understands that our money is broken and Bitcoin is the solution" (other than my husband)

Someone give me the tldr on the JFK files. This mama is tired and still disappointed from the supposed "Epstein" drop.

Magnesium glycinate has helped so much at bedtime. I'm an anxious person and it's helped me relax and fall asleep more easily. 💤

Garden kickoff 2025 🎉

1. Indoor herbs (chives, cilantro, rosemary, dill)

2. Cucumbers (not planted yet)

3. Expanded edging around the patio (now surrounding the wildflower patch) + another stair uncovered

4. 3 tiered beds (L-R: big tomatoes w/ basil, cherry tomatoes w/ basil, strawberries)

5. Blackberry bush (to add to the other four... I always forget about them)

6. Cherry blossom trees x4 (oval beds in progress... digging is laborious)

Where it started: "Epstein managed Les Wexner's funds so I'm not going to shop a L brands anymore" (Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, The Loft)

Then: "I hope Victoria's Secret closes my account because I don't want my daughter seeing their ads in our mailbox"

Now: "Bath & Body Works scents can cause cancer so I'm going fragrance free" (only replace what I run out of, no waste)

Today I had to tell a student that I couldn't lend her a personal copy of a novel because I could get sued. However, if she checks it out from the school library there wouldn't be any legal recourse.

Here's an anecdote about government waste in public schools directly from a teacher:

2023: School district implements new curriculum and purchases 3 new textbooks for highschool ELA classes.

2024: Teachers overwhelmed by new curriculum + a mountain of tasks/requirements outside normal duties. Teachers only required to use 2 out of 3 textbooks (thankfully).

2025: Teachers again required to use 2 out of 3 textbooks. However, the district wants make space to purchase more textbooks. School librarian drops off textbook #3 outside all English teacher classrooms and directs them to hand them out to students. Students can then take them home and dispose of them.

Hundreds of textbooks per school, x5 schools, are being thrown away because the district has decided to purchase something else.

The best part is that admin is telling teachers they aren't pulling their weight (earning their salary) and to complete additional certs so the school can receive more government funding (research FTE model).

Maybe if textbooks weren't thrown in the trash, that money could have been used to pay teachers salaries....

I can expand on why FTE is not in the interest of teachers or students, but I'll save that for another time.

Flu A was ravaging our household in January so we combined Valentine's with our dating anniversary.

We're watching American Psycho for the first time. Hopefully we didn't make a mistake. 😆

Idk why but the sound of electric/hybrid vehicles creeps me out.

Mothers carry a lot of weight on their shoulders (literally and figuratively). I'm navigating over a week of illness in my household. Two family members have flu A. I suspect my daughter had it last weekend with milder symptoms. I've been solo parenting for nearly a week. I don't think I have the cognitive ability to think of what to make for dinner tonight. Sigh. This too shall pass.

My bestfriend (of 20+ years) and I took our kids to an indoor museum/playground today (1 hour from home, solo parenting).

I felt so free because I didn't let anxiety hold me back from having this experience. My kids were great. We had a blast. Everyone went home intact. 10/10 recommend fighting your fears and doing the fun things in life.

❄️ 🍪We had fun in the snow and baked cookies today. 🍪❄️

Little dude didn't have any waterproof shoes so I asked if anyone had some in our neighborhood Facebook group. A kind neighbor walked over and brought snow boots and a snow bib for him.

I couldn't believe how kind he was! We decided to bake cookies for his family. 2025 is the year of hope. I'm hoping to see more kindness and neighborly gestures this year. ❤️

Fun fact: it snowed on this day 3 years ago. This year we're passing around the flu (or at least that's what I think it is), and in 2022 we had COVID. nostr:nprofile1qqspdudqzqx5ellme3prp68qus5se3vynsddcexkv5la5p7qxxcswjcprdmhxue69uhhw6r9v96zu6rpwpc8jarpwejhym3wvdhj7qgnwaehxw309ac82unsd3jhqct89ejhxtcpzdmhxue69uhk7enxvd5xz6tw9ec82c30hq9nk4

Is there an official but Bitcoin Magazine on Nostr? If so, can someone drop the npub
