This was a great listen. I have found some of Sebs podcast appearances as somewhat repetitive but Bram pulled on some great threads in this one.
I was at a friend's BBQ the other night and the amount of times I heard one of my friends say "the government just needs to..." really pissed me off. This same friend was also railing against consumerism. I didn't want to completely kill the vibe of the party but I sent him this podcast and he replied saying he listened to it and is interested in learning more about bitcoin.

Not that I aware of. He's written a few articles about Bitcoin over the past three years which have spanned from intrigue to bullish, but always written in his cryptic, tongue in cheek style. As a traditional finance guy, and the face of the ABC news finance segment for over a decade, his opinions likely will wiggle the key to vast amounts of boomer wealth in Australia.

Because the measurement stick for money is broken (fiat). Who in their right mind would fund a project that will take 20-100 years to complete when there is no certainty about the value of the money over that timeframe.
