You say “we” 28 times and talk about what “we” must do, but you have no interest in being part of a we?
How can you expect to be part of any we if you won’t stand with the we against a they? What we would accept such a member?
I see. I disagree with people for good reason and when I do I am not obliged to support them. This post reminds me of an old Frank Herbert line:
“When I am weaker than you I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles”
This quote characterizes the results of every online tolerance movement for almost 10 years. I’m surprised we haven’t learned our lesson yet.
This is probably the most relevant instance:
> We need to defend those who are being bullied and be their friends – whether we like them or agree with them, or not.
Who is “we” in this blog?
Full blocks and high fees. You love to see it.
Because we want to share spaces with people like us. Global networks that don’t permit humans to sort into preference groups are broken.
History is also full of multi-generational benevolent monarchs. The oldest form of governance won’t disappear because of bitcoin. Making it hard or impossible to confiscate wealth will mitigate many of the risks of monarchy. It may actually get more popular as a result. Stability of a lifelong ruler and a clear responsible party who you can dispatch if needed? And he can’t take your money? Sounds pretty good.
If you don’t recognize anything other than centralized vaulting as a cause of monarchy then your confusion is understandable.
The same way monarchy and gold coexisted for all of time.
Does gossip not work on your mac? https://github.com/mikedilger/gossip/releases
Nostr is nowhere near the adoption levels that would make that an issue. By the time it is, such a thing will exist. The market provides.
Glad it's not just me. At first I thought relays were down or something.
But they DO show up in gossip.
Looks cool. Is there a trick to making Alby login work?
