I was reading about an accidental shooting in a local bar, where the guy was carrying his gun in his pocket (yes its illegal to carry your gun into a bar in TX). Apparently the gun discharged and wounded the guy in the leg, and also a woman in the bar, in both her legs. The guy is pretty well known in town, even ran for county judge once. I dont know the details about holster/no holster, but in any case he'll be facing charges. Something like this can happen and instantly change the course of your life, be careful out there. pretty insane that apple does not provide an option to turn off siri voice recording transcripts. They are always sent to apples servers if you have siri enabled and you can’t disable it.

I really like one hidden feature of siri “hey siri remind me of this tomorrow” when looking at sms or emails, it will create a reminder and provide a link back to the message.

I can’t use this though because I don’t want apple to have anything I say. Imagine if it transcribed something sensitive by accident? Disappoint.

Ok, I'm tired and ready to relax for the evening. We finished putting the netting around the chicken tractor, so they have alot more room to run around and forage for bugs and stuff. I'm waiting to make sure they go back in the tractor before dark. And then our freezer on the back porch quit working, so we found a used one on craigslist and picked it up. Those things are heavy, but we got it done. The thing is, after we got that one set up, the old one started working again, so we put that one in the shop for now. My husband says he can use the extra space for our meat rabbits. Speaking of craigslist, I wish we had a nostr craigslist. Anyway, I'm done for the day. I have for a fair while supported Apple as being a “good enough” platform for user privacy and security, but the recent decision to ban #damus unless they removed the note zaps has been eye opening.

My backup phone runs GrapheneOS and BS like this makes it quite tempting to finally make the full switch
