pretty insane that apple does not provide an option to turn off siri voice recording transcripts. They are always sent to apples servers if you have siri enabled and you can’t disable it.

I really like one hidden feature of siri “hey siri remind me of this tomorrow” when looking at sms or emails, it will create a reminder and provide a link back to the message.

I can’t use this though because I don’t want apple to have anything I say. Imagine if it transcribed something sensitive by accident? Disappoint.

Wait, what?? So if enabled, Siri is always listening and sending transcripts of its recordings to Apple?

Yeah i just tried to turn it off and there is no option. Read the privacy thing in the siri settings.

That’s scary stuff 😳

I see an option to delete Siri and Dictation history from apple servers

Rien ne disparaĂźt totalement sur Internet

Reading now, it states your data is associated with a random device generated identifier and not your Apple ID, email, or other personal data. Still pretty sketchy though, might disable Siri now..

Oy thats not good

You ever thought of leaving the rotting Apple nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s ?

There is a fix for that. It involves selling your iphone for a pixel with graphene

Almost like there should be laws against this, but I’ll assume the data sharing with gov is too enticing.

By accident?

There's a private AI protocol being developed (maybe 5 years + old) - https://www.openmined.org/ - it would completely solve this problem. The big tech companies know of it. It was being trailed in twitter and is retrofitted with for all the major deep learning tools. I don't quite understand why they are all so hesitant to move this direction.
