Gold is old. They should all just get on with migrating to #bitcoin as we all know it’s eventually going to happen. No point procrastinating and faffing around with shiny yellow rocks.

It’s sad to see Apple going this route. A few years back I had some hope they might embrace Bitcoin and start integrating it into their company.

Imagine the incredible first mover advantage they could have had from the big 5 tech companies, integrating a signing device into the iPhone and baking in lightning + bitcoin to the native wallet app.

Apple could have done something awesome with bitcoin. Maybe they still will in the future, but for now looks like they are determined to resist the orange revolution.

I wish there were meet-ups in my area. It’s super conservative and kind old where I live - very little interest in bitcoin here as far as I can tell 😩

I can’t prove it but my whole life I’ve always strongly believed that death is just a rebirth into something completely new and beyond our comprehension. I don’t remember what life was before I was born, but I believe I still existed before I was born, just in a completely different form. The same is true of death. I can’t prove any of this, but the nihilists who claim we simply rot in the ground and are no more can’t prove their theory either. I know which is the more optimistic belief to have ;)

I’ve wondered this too. I wonder if it’s something to do with the decentralised nature of all the relays - that there isn’t really a “ground truth” state to nostr, it’s fragmented here and there across all the relays (though I might be totally misunderstanding the protocol and stand to be corrected!!)

Would definitely like to hear nostr talked about on podcasts in the future… I’d particularly like to hear a little bit of technical information about how the relays work.

As nostr grows in popularity does the number of relays decline due to increased cost/resource requirements to operate a relay? Or will some relays start pruning older content so they don’t grow into hundreds of terabytes and billions of messages? Does nostr become a paid service in the future with users paying sats for relays to broadcast events, otherwise I’m not sure I get the economic incentive for people to run a relay? So many questions about the economics of this system! But I’m totally here for it - screw Facebook and Twitter!

Back in 2018 the G7 working group on central bank digital currencies described the need to inter operate between the different CBDCs in their first white paper. Let that sink in for a second. This CBDC thing has been in the works for at least 5 years at this point, and the G7 nations are coordinating between themselves to implement it.

Doesn’t this sound suspiciously like a one world fiat currency to anyone else?…. Prominent researchers have been warning about this for 30 years, and for 30 years they were branded “conspiracy theorists” and nut jobs.

Funny how yesterdays conspiracy theory becomes todays government policy.
