I just found out that you can combine emojis with Zero With Joins (U+200D).
e.g. 👱+👱♀️+👧 creates 👨👩👧. (U+1F468 U+200D U+1F469 U+200D U+1F467).

Not if they are standard compliant: "A relay doesn't talk to another relay, only directly to users."
Probably because it has to constantly process events from multiple relays. Twitter only needs one connection and gets all its data pre-processed.
