Morning Mastodonians!

Looks like they are going to let me go home today from the hospital, 4 days after getting bitten by the foster cat, 3 days after heading to the ER when my Urgent Care team said I should go. My wounded left index finger is looking much better, while much of the redness and swelling has disappeared. For those keeping score, that's 3 times longer than I was in the hospital for my hip replacement and a day longer than either of our child births!

Soon off to spend the day at rehab with Mom for her last full day. The daunting feeling of responsibility of helping her once she’s home comes + goes. It is mostly replaced with looking forward to having her back in her own place, where she can relax + get stronger where she’s happiest.

Well...up at 5 this morning and out of bed around 6 and it is a little sad to see my daughter packing up to go home...but we both need to get back to our lives and we recognize it's time...talking out the UK trip right now as we sit here and it's a fun way to end this phase of the recovery...going to miss her but it's been a good two weeks....good morning

Happy Slackerday to one n all.🥳

We are off to a foggy start to our day #today. A thick fog. It's wet n very muggy with humidity registering at 100% but at least cooler than it has been. Only 72deg here at "rise n shine" and anticipated to reach only to the low 80's for #myday.🙂

Don't know what kinda trouble I'm gonna be getting into #today, it being Slackerday Saturday n all. I'm thinking, if the fog lifts n the humidity drops to where one can move without sweating half to death, I'll get out and trim up some of that overgrown weeds n brush around the house n garden.

But if the weather gods have other plans, then maybe just venture out, hunt up, and snag me a nice red tomato sandwich from that nest of them hiding out in the garden for lunch.😋

And if all that fails, and the wife n her honey-dos permit, just stay cool n dry here on my comfy couch, sip cool drinks n well, Slack! 😊

#SlowIntroductions: We brought Pax downstairs today after having had a long interval in-between visits. It all went pretty well until the dog began barking and Pax became stressed, so we took her back to her room. We'll try again soon.
