On chain transactions aren't fast like lightning. Even at 1sat on chain you will not receive the btc as fast as lightning.
1 bitcoin right now gets you a car. 1 bitcoin in 2025 will get you something worth about 120k or whatever the high will be.
If you hold btc with in time things actually things will become cheaper for you because of the amount of btc you hodl. You need to go through a couple of halving to realize this.. ppl that have been in since before before and held their btc from years ago they wealthy and act like they not because the humble as hell. In btc you have to put in the work to reap the benefits and some ppl will never hodl through 3 cycles

Its because they keep one channel open for you no matter what you do. Before if you didn't have enough inbound liquidity you would have to open a whole new channel and you would have 2 channels so as time goes you might have 10 channels open..
The way they do it now is lets say you have a 60k channel open with 40k sats in it and you receive 40k sats bow tbey just expand your same channel and charge you a small fee.
