We're starting to cut back the neighbours trees to be able to install a #tree hedge here.
Meanwhile i am working on the permaculture design to be improved this Year.

We're #mulching on site using old silo poly that would have been thrown away otherwise. This is a methodology i really like to have a easy way of maintaining your garden. Of course we want to use as less polycarbon as possible, but to reuse old silo tarps is really a killer feature for a project like ours and saves us a lot of energy and time. I will try to reuse even more in future.
Also we are maintaining the mulch of some of our trees using cardboard. The same time we took our time to check for damages on the trees. To my surprise the biggest damages came from rabbits and not from the deere. We will adapt to this for our plantings this year.

It is cleanup day in the polytunnel.
Beside this we have also talked about our plans for 2023.
This year we will focus on bringing forward rhe permaculture on site. Our dere friends will take over the polytunnel for this year so i can focus myself more onto the treesystems we want to build.

we have new ladies. We are swiching our #chicken hens to #Australorps
I was not really satisfied witht the functions i could observe on the Bielefelder Kennhuhn chickens we've had. So decided to swich to Australorps to have slight different functions.
Aim is to be able to process more leftovers from the garden and to lower our grain usage for feed. We'll accept a shorter range of egg supply therefor.
