Sounds great. Please post pics of the area. I’ve never been!
No, haven’t tried it. I’m focused completely on bitcoin now. I went pretty far down the rabbit hole with ETH and other technologies ( I think most techies do) but I eventually realized that all roads end up at bitcoin.
Welcome! I’ve enjoyed hanging out here. A great community of freedom oriented smart people.
Welcome Alfredo! 👋 Yes, this seems to be a big community of freedom-oriented creative builders. Hope you feel right at home.
Welcome! 👋 There is a great community of freedom oriented people here. I think you’ll feel right at home.
Welcome Bella! 👋 there is a great community building here. I love Canada’s west coast. One of the most beautiful places on earth.
Welcome! 👋 that happened to me too. As a techie, I understand the attraction to ETH. Went pretty far down the ETH rabbit hole until I realized that it all ends with bitcoin.
Hi 👋 welcome to nostr! What do you mean by P2P expert? Just wondering what you like to focus on.
Welcome, Evelyn! 👋 It’s a great community building here. I used to be an equities trader. It was a lot of fun but after all the ups and downs I didn’t see any long term progress. I just made a lot of money for my brokerage. 🤪
I used to have a significant amount of ETH too. Ended up getting disillusioned and selling it all for bitcoin. Now I just like to build things.
Every day, let’s do something to reverse this dystopia.
Today, I’m going to welcome new nostr users. I’m hoping it helps improve and grow this community.
This article made me think. I agree with the premise that not enough people will have self custody.
I’m wondering if that is inevitable. True self custody can only occur on the base chain (L1). Rising fees on the base chain will force most holders to L2.
Human psychology will also push people into custodian solutions. People prefer convenience and are scared of personal responsibility.
At the moment, I don’t see any alternative other than federated / collaborative custody solutions for most people.
We should focus on making those solutions the best we can, private secure and decentralized.
What do you think?

I realized I misunderstood your question. In 2021, bitcoin probably would have scaled greater heights if FTX had actually purchased the bitcoin, but your question was about 2022.
The reality is that bitcoin has a four year cycle because of “the halving”. 1.5 years of a bull market and 2.5 of a bear market. In the bull market, people go crazy trying to get rich and they borrow a lot of money to buy bitcoin.
Inevitably, these gamblers get their loans liquidated and this causes mass selling all at once, driving down the price. This happens every cycle. The long term bitcoiners don’t panic when this happens and buy more on the way down, if they can.
You can see these drops in history here. This is bitcoin’s price since 2009 shown on a log scale.
Look at the drops… 2012, 2014, 2018, 2021. The good news? The bull cycle is just starting. Don’t get greedy and don’t try to time the market. Just hold for the long-term (your retirement).
FTX took a billion dollars of customer funds that they spent on bitcoin and FTX never actually bought the bitcoin.
Everyone thought that. The reality is that we’re all still incredibly early.
2014…

Fearmongering.
I can’t help but think these people are auditioning for the AI priesthood, to intermediate our access to AI and thereby control us.
Like a gun, AI is just a tool. In the wrong hands it will be deadly. But the solution probably isn’t giving a small group of people absolute power. That seems truly dangerous.
The solution is probably decentralization. Open source everything. So good guys with AI can stop the bad guy with AI.
It’s great to see the pendulum swinging back now. 👍
It seems like not so long ago, Tucker might have been completely and truly cancelled for this. Kicked off Fox, YouTube hostile, without an alternative with Twitter. Now, he’s going to get more viewers and more reach.
It’s probably too much to hope for the pendulum to stop in the happy middle where we leave each other alone. Both far 🔴 and the far 🔵 want to control and take away freedoms.
Go team grey! 🩶 (libertarians)
My favorite current rock band is the Warning, for probably three years straight now. Three young Mexican women that know what they're doing, especially the singer.

I love those soaring vocals. Super catchy song. I kept trying to press the zap button but it wasn’t working. Damn Apple.
I can’t believe (well, I guess I can) that it was a self-inflicted attack on themselves. 🤪
