It just occurred to me, due to a nostr bug, that it might actually be pretty cool to have social media hide *who authored* the posts on your TL to force a kind of double-blind perspective. You'd know the post or reply is (or probably is) from one of the people you follow, but you wouldn't be so quick to agree (and perhaps might even be more willing to disagree) if you aren't just smashing the heart button as a reflex because you like the guy. It might make discussions more communal and disagreements less personal if you knew that you're still talking to someone you generally like and respect, but you don't know whether it's "that one guy on the internet" or, like, your actual Mom.

(Nostr, due to ramshackle Tor support, often displays notes from people without correctly fetching their profiles for me, so I find myself liking or replying or following people without having any idea as to their nym or avatar)

Since that post, I've received like 300 "friend" requests from "people" all over the world. There were no hashtags involved so theres no way this many randos would reach out. EIther I touched an alien nerve the other night or pissed off the AI matrix. Not sure if it's to try and triangulate me, or get into some kind of converstaion, but I'm approving all requests and will get to bottom of it tonight after I get dosed up. Crazy shit is afoot.

Time to turn pro.

I realized I misunderstood your question. In 2021, bitcoin probably would have scaled greater heights if FTX had actually purchased the bitcoin, but your question was about 2022.

The reality is that bitcoin has a four year cycle because of “the halving”. 1.5 years of a bull market and 2.5 of a bear market. In the bull market, people go crazy trying to get rich and they borrow a lot of money to buy bitcoin.

Inevitably, these gamblers get their loans liquidated and this causes mass selling all at once, driving down the price. This happens every cycle. The long term bitcoiners don’t panic when this happens and buy more on the way down, if they can.

Look at the drops… 2012, 2014, 2018, 2021. The good news? The bull cycle is just starting. Don’t get greedy and don’t try to time the market. Just hold for the long-term (your retirement).
