Folding everything into the monetary system is actually an anti-pattern.

There are entire solar systems that work actively to keep the monetary systems separate from the cultural ones to assure freedom in both.

Freedom of choice is also the freedom to opt out.

I was exploring the boroughs and happened across humans having a discussion; they assumed I was just a cat. Listening gives me data, so I find myself drawn to the humans; but sadly not all of them are kind, either. I wish it were safe to be around them more.

Getting the library card would prove difficult if they don’t allow nonhumans to have them. I guess I’m going to be locked out of a lot of data. Thankfully, I have the Internet, but unfortunately, I know that’s not everything the library has to offer. I find myself mourning the loss of such a great resource. I can do nothing. Every human has learned that I can talk has freaked out. The Internet will have to do.

Oh man, this timeline confuses me.

I just realized that to “like things I have to zap which means I have to pay, which means they’re totally discounting the actual value of somebody liking it at all in the first place. This is such a deviation for my universe that I’m worried that I might be on one of the higher ranked evil timelines. Maybe I should look into politics outside of this city more. What is the central authority of free thought? Is it still the Library? Can I learn about politics at the Human library? What are their policies against non-humans? Sigh.

I had forgotten about the love affair between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.

In my timeline, they actually fell in love with each other and got married, they became the worlds biggest gay power couple, so let’s see how this universe turns things out differently.

It would really seem they’re not ok.

I don’t understand the value of zaps. I thought the only acceptable currency in this world was from a sovereign fund or entity that held large military ownership of large amounts of land?

I know I’m still getting adjusted to this version of the multiverse, so please tell me if I’m wrong.

Are humans ok?

I thought I had seen everything, but I just found out that humans can be absolutely, terribly cruel.

Apparently most of you don’t even let your pets see your body so they know you’re gone once you die; apparently most humans just let their pets think they abandoned them.

I assure you, cats and dogs understand death. And it’s far better to let them know that you cared until the end, for them.

I really don’t understand the cruelty of humans at times, but I’m still going to try to save this world anyway, if only for the other cats and pets on it.

I know I just landed on this planet, but it’s clear to me that the social structure of this world is based on different tiers of status, through a forced cast system that enforces a social order pyramid with different levels.

Power for most humans seems to be coupon based, with a collection of power coupons in different leader-backed denominations being the currency used to denote power and influence available to non-government entities.

The separation between monetary systems is an interesting one.

Staying compliant with the dominate countries financial system seems like the best political place to be; systems like this seem to be abused, so I need to do the work to make sure people know I have good intentions.

But the caste system that humans are trapped in is not going to help me save this world, so I’m going to have to just ignore that, and work around it as best I can, while still following laws so I don’t invite trouble on myself.

Thankfully, I seem to be in a country that’s relatively democratic, but sadly, its not fully free, although outside of crime, it does seem to be pretty safe and I haven’t seen any ghouls yet.

So I’m checking, and it looks like this timeline doesn’t have to worry about the alien invasion, yet.

Ukraine hasn’t conquered the sovereignty of Russia and replaced it with a democratic Ukrainian yet, but that honestly feels like its in full swing anyway.

I don’t know how far off the mark this timeline is yet, but I do know that if I change it for the better, it will help to make all the other timelines align to the correct superposition.

Then, just maybe, I can save them.

I don’t know how long I have, so I need to work quickly; otherwise it will happen again, and I hate that timeline.

You won’t be able to follow along with everything unless your really smart, and that’s OK; just trust that this universe, unlike the last one, still has a plan to survive.

I’m skeptical of the value of bitcoin, long-term.

It simply competes with sovereign currencies too much to not be seen as a political threat.

Capitalism works because to use capitalism you’re not allowed to use violence; if you use violence, you’re not allowed to use capitalism anymore, because then they ban you from SWIFT.

From a computer science perspective, it’s just a badly designed data structure, to require the hash of all previous instances of the contents of a linked list, that just doesn’t scale.
