I've had this idea for while and would like to see if anyone else here likes it:

A new congressional act: the Local Food Act. The idea is to make for the next ten years the profit from all local sales of food personally grown needs no reporting for taxation.

Local means "within the same or adjacent counties or within 100miles "

Personally grown means "grown or raised and sold by the same entity of a single family farm with profit of less than $2M/yr, a sub-50 person operation of profit less than $500k/employee". For the sale of meat, the animals need to have lived on the land for 2/3 of their lives or transferred from another local, having lived locally for the entirety of their lives.

This will have two effects: encourage local food growing, keeping money local to boost economy and reduce the need for food transportation to please the ecologists and economists alike 🤙 Plus, anything to reduce the dependency on the global supply chain is a win.

I agree. I listened to another commentary recently on him that went into some other aspects of his policies. He's a libertarian, which means something slightly different in an Argentinian context than my own American context, but regardless I appreciate many of his views. The biggest one is reigning in the state's tyranny and re-empowering the people, economically and politically.

Just watched S3 E2 of *The Chosen*, and I have to say it is excellent!

Season 1 was alright, decent for an independent Christian production. It has a couple campy moments that felt like something from Sunday school, mostly over-acting or underdeveloped characters, but not bad overall.

Season 2 was pretty good. It felt like the characters started to really discover who they are in the story, and the plot felt full and thought-out.

Season 3 has some of the best acting and directing I've ever seen in a series! Only 2 episodes in and I feel the need to share.

The other thing I'm noticing is a really good writing for the conflict. Even the "bad guys" (the Roman authorities) are likable and a bit relatable. I'm really interested and will possibly keep up a thread with more review later.

I am impressed!

Level 9: "feels like wishing and waiting."

Oh, man... that is so true it actually hurts. I think I've touched levels 8 and 9 when I'm in prayer on rare occasions, I think.

I remained in thought last night after watching this. It is true, we are products of history and culture, and that will predispose us to particular conclusions accordingly, but I would oppose the idea that we are all in some ways correct for the place we occupy time and space. I believe that we ought to be tending toward ultimate truth, that primarily ultimate truth exist, and that the people in cultures and times move closer to or further from it. Personal merit could be considered to be the delta one achieves from where they began and inherited and where they ended up and passed on, including their influence on others to do the same.

All that to say some cultures truly are better, and the fact that we inherit something different shouldn't inhibit our promotion of what we truly believe is best, but we ought also honestly and humbly investigate the claims of other cultures.
