Quite the contrary. For men competition is the default. Our entire lives are one endless competition.

Being competitive with friends is done (usually) out of love.

By competing in a safe environment with people who have your best interest at heart, it allows you to level up.

“maxing” an oldschool runescape account is notoriously hard, only the sweatiest of gamers dedicating hundreds of days of play time can pull it off. This is because 1 to 99 is almost an exponential curve. Getting level 92 is only half way to 99, and 92 is quite difficult to achieve, not to mention for all skills.

It has become somewhat of a nostalgic goal for a lot of gamers who played runescape as a kid, which is why it is still popular today 20+ years later.

I have a fun app idea where you use the same leveling curve but for personal and fitness goals. Max your real character instead.

Walking and moving around would give you some base xp/hr, like maybe 10k xp per hour. This is pretty standard for a low effort skill grind in osrs. Running and hiking could be 50k xp/hr. 99 is 13 million experience. Hook it into apple watch to count this xp automatically.

Gotta gamify it to get sweaty gamers to go touch grass. Habitica exists but I want the runescape grind 😆 maybe I’m weird.

I guess when I hear far out stuff it doesn’t offend me as much as it makes me think “man where did he get what he’s smoking” haha and then I move on. But there were definitely points that made me curious.

You know what absolutely cracks me up? The insane reactions to the Terrence Howard and Joe Rogan interview. 🤣 Like all the sudden folks with marketing majors are up on some intellectual high horse calling vibratory physics “word salad for people who skipped science class” - they’re truly offended, armchair diagnosing him as psychotic, etc. 🤣 some people have gone so far as to make whole videos trolling his ideas. I just need to know why are they so mad? Why do people feel legitimately offended/insulted by an idea that has been around for at least 100 years? There are plenty of other folks who have said some the same things he talks about (Walter Russell, Nikola Tesla, John Keely, etc) and to be fair I suppose the mainstream rejected them similarly. I’m not sure I vibe with all #terrencehoward has to say, but he puts an interesting spin, or maybe I should say curvature, on the geometry of space. But hey, I’m the kinda person who watched The Primer Fields by David LaPointe and the Black Whole by Nassim Haramein when they first dropped so that’s my genre, clearly. Lol. 😎🔔
